WCMUT....what cheered me up today

An alleged 0% chance of rain this afternoon while I'm on a course! (AND a similar forecast [long range, so probably less accurate] for Thursday.)
 
took car in this morning for Service/MOT etc, avoided all the jams on the way into Leeds, booked car in, grabbed a coffee and got a lift down into town in the "shuttle" - as there was only me, instead of the usual VW bus, it was a Audi S4... Got out in Leeds, walked 50 yards into the railway station, bought a ticket and wandered straight down to the platform and onto the Express straight back into Wakefield. Walked up from the railway station to the bus stop and straight onto my bus home. Round trip under 90 minutes, 10 of which were drinking coffee in the Garage's reception.

of course, as it's in for the MOT, I guess you can expect a post later in the WAMT thread later this evening, but at the moment, things have gone well

oh, it'll pass (eventually), it's just that I know it needs the timing belt doing, and whatever else a 15 year old car can come up with :lol:

Spooky....mine's 15 yo too.
I got 2 advisories.
Nearside CVJ Gator will need replacing shortly and the handbrake needs adjusting :-)
 
Mine passed last month with the most stupid advisory ever :banghead: even my garage guy said so:banghead:
Last year at Whipsnade I caught one of the rock things as I turned into park by the cheetahs, scratched
the paintwork under to door a bit but not badly, when I got home I cleaned it and did a paint touch up
job to keep any rust out....................................................yep that got an advisory being on
the sill .............WTF it's not dented or anything, just surface damage :mad:
 
W-REALLY-CMUT - no addtional work over and above service and timing belt, 2 advisories - slight corrosion to front brake disks (which a lick with the wire-brush has now sorted according to the workshop lads) and "slight delamination on corner of rear number plate".

This is me being a happy, happy bunny!!

Getting a call tomorrow regarding my plan B. It has become clear why the phone has been red hot with blue chip companies sniffing around our software. We made the Gartner report on Business realtime Intelligence and Analytics. Oh yes bring it on.

W *really* CMUT: Finding out that our cat's recent sickness and diarrhoea isn't a symptom of anything more sinister. She's been really unwell for the last week or so, and the vet had softened us up to be prepared for something horrible like bowel cancer or kidney failure. But all the blood tests have come back normal, and she's responding very well to bland food (fresh white fish cooked specially for her 5x a day!), ranitidine and worming treatment, so it looks like it was just a case of something being very wrong with her gut flora. Tigger's 15 years old so there's some bad news coming at some point, obviously - but not yet.

Good news about your kitty. When they're older dirty teeth can give them problems wih bladder infections and squit bum.
 
Scratching the cat's chest and having her walk towards me as I'm doing so, ending up with her almost vertical, me still scratching and her purring loudly! Sorry, no pic possible since I was scratching with my right hand and couldn't reach a camera anyway!
 
My fish really settling in well to their new home and being warm enough for me to start feeding them...all I need is the weather to get that little bit better and then my dad will be able to make it down to feed them and watch them feed, plus the Lilly's will start to come to life soon making it look a little less Barron :P

Heron can try, I know I cannot harm a Heron, but the net is designed to make it so a heron shouldn't be actuslly able to get its bill into the water as the net is quite fine and at least 8 inches off the water surface :P s come on Mr H try your best...
 
Is the net screwed down and well supported? The MiL had a pond (note the past tense!) full of fish and had it netted. The heron learned to stand on the netting to sag it down to water level then stabbed its way through. Clever bathtubs!

I have 10 days holiday to be taken before end of March. I'd rather not have to though.

Much as I like my job it's nice to have some time off, especially when you don't know you are due it, could have carried it over to next year
but then the same thing will probably happen
