WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT? Can't see a cloud in the sky and we had breakfast in the conservatory. Is spring almost here?

That'll be June 10th (ish!) and a few miles South... Our patio here is in shade for most of the morning but bathed in sunshine from 11 onwards.

Basically she jumped towards me, and stepped up on my fist, when I went to pick her up, rather than jumping / flying away from me.
Its called "baiting" when they are still tied to a block or bow perch.
She then flew a few yards when called to the fist (Glove) but tied to a fine, strong line, for "security" for now.

She is a pretty girl...
 
Being slightly odd and liking words, I was under the impression that it was "bate" rather than "bait". Not that it makes any difference to anything or anyone other than word lovers (for which, slightly oddly, there seems to be no agreed word although logophile seems appropriate!) and in no way detracts from her beauty or the progression in her training. Lovely feeling, having a bird on the fist (although they do get heavy after a while!)
 
I managed. Sort of. :whistling:

Have enjoyed a couple of BoP experience days and done a few as a spectator with a camera. After 30 minutes or so, even a 1 1/2 - 2 pound Harris's Hawk starts dragging the arm down!
 
Knowing it's my last day in the office until Tuesday and spending the weekend at Centre Parcs with my family :)

Either word works TBH Nod there is no right or wrong.
If it hurt, then your were carrying it wrong though ;)
Look at Jasmine from last years MM, she held that male GxS (about 24oz) for an hour or so, at a time while posing for the glamour shots ;)
And all because I showed her the right way.

A 40oz bird is no problem either as long as your technique is correct ;)
 
Look at Jasmine? I'd get arrested for that! Too much like hard work too... :whistling:
 
Oh and what CMUT? My course companions all wimping out due to the weather, leaving me free to enjoy a lovely plate of cod and chips (TBH, I prefer haddock for both taste and conservation reasons but that wasn't an option) in the clubhouse in the bar where the course was being held...
 
Lots of things today! Best of the bunch was finding a pair of wellies that fit me properly! A close second was a decent burger (lamb and chorizo) for lunch.
 
Just been watching the One Show and Michael Bentine's son was talking about his dad.
I remembered 'Potty Time' with models and fleas? , footsteps in snow etc.
Sorry I can't describe it better, but if you remember them you'll know what I mean.

WCMUT .... It's Saturday, weather nice, walk to village, lambs doing well, big fry up brekkies [ fried crumpet going well with black pud and smoked streaky] nearly time for a pint at the Olive Bush. Job's a gud'un :beer:

I must admit I've never heard of that but,
WCMUT? someone presenting a food preparation idea that was new to me,
being added to the "to try list" (y)

Oh that and "Donut" (post 485) now doing the full length of the garden for a garnished lure.
Won't belong before we can get rid of the creance :)
 
Had a go at creating my own background with acrylic paints for a studio type shot. Tones, colours and everything worked a treat.

I converted it to B+W obviously. :)
 
Getting out on the bike. Only for a few miles (out to Sainsbury's for fuel, down to town, home to pick up me teef [!] back to town and home again) but nice to get my knees chilled again!
 
It's Sunday so it must be Sunday lunch day.

Also, the realisation that more things cheer me up than p*** me off!

That makes a nice change indeed, normally the 3 foot nails that
I manage to find inextricably find there way through the side wall.
Well that is you would think that they were 3 feet long,
'cause I'm buggered if I know how a half inch tack manages it!
 
Managed to find time to give the road bike a bit of loving today. Clean and sparkling with a new chain, and ready to hit the road again when this monsoon ends!

Wcmut: How from something not so good an absolutely brilliant business opportunity can develop. Also great to be able to have someone technical at the ready early in the morning to bounce the idea off and work out a prototype. It is a great start to a sunny day.
