WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Quite simply because as I wasn't going to use them and I have heard of cases of them causing fires on some cars if the wiring frays
If I remember rightly Volvo did a recall for it and that particular car was a volvo :(

Aston Martin have just issued a recall for that very same reason...burning the posh folks' bums!

Mrs Nod's leather is cream so less of a problem with getting hot.

Better than leaping into a Suzuki Jimmny that's been parked in Mediterranean sun for a few hours wearing swimming shorts and a T-shirt...
Just make certain you are still wet. Works fine that way and throw your wet towel on them :)

One of the good ones I like is what Renault called 'Alcantara' which is a sort of faux suede/moleskin type stuff, hard to explain, but is really lovely, looks very swish, cleans much more easily than normal fabric and and will take a lot of arse movement before it shows any wear signs. It is often accompanied by leather trimmed bolsters, so the best of both worlds.

For slightly more powerful cars especially I prefer those. Reduces the amount of sliding considerably.

indeed, the car I really remember it in was a Clio 172 when that model was pretty much current, possibly just as the 182 was the current version, but either way, best upholstery I have ever had, comfy, practical and looked good. Come to think of it, I would actually quite happily have that car back too, a bit a 'retro chic' fun

The Recaro seats in my Mondeo ST TDCi were half leather, half Alcantara. They were heated too but as already said, never used the heating.

"Clean up in post #408!!!"

They are leather (n) I hate leather car seats
Two things I would never have in a car are leather seats and a sun roof.
The volvo had half leather, only the edges of the seats to help with wear and tear

I can agree with the sun roof comment. What purpose do they serve? The only practical use is when the traffic lights are very high otherwise the AC looks after the heat.
They are just too noisy.

they are handy for photographing wildlife.

Reactions: den
And not all cars have AC.

Mrs Nod's is a convertible - is that counted as a sunroof? :D

I'd much rather have a sun roof than AC. I hardly ever use my AC, only gets used during winter to aid the heated front screen to defrost. Seldom use it in summer, I'd much rather lower the windows and have a sunroof wound back to enjoy the sun. They are not noisy tilted and if wound back, cracking open the rear windows stops the buffeting noise.

So, anybody cheered up by anything apart from car seats recently?

WCMUT: Waking up to see a covering of snow. Not much if it, but it's our first of the winter.

Snow indeed. It is lovely and fun.

Yep...snow here too :-)

Cheered me up until I had to clear it all off the car this morning.

Couple of centimetres here again too and it's just started lightly again now :D

No snow! A bit chilly first thing (so Mrs Nod tells me!) but a little warmer now - well, my car's clear of frost so it must be warmer or at least less cold!

Clean car.

Portugese custard tarts from Madeira yum yum

Lost 2lb since last weighing despite the change in diet as I have bought one of those halogen ovens which are superb

Oooh I've got a Breville Halo.
I was amazed at the range of things that can be cooked in there!

@Cg_Girl uploading those photos from the iPad whilst trying to wipe my avatar :)

Seeing that steve had kept himself busy this week, by redesigning the beeb website

WCMUT I am no longer obese just overweight according to my BMI (will have to watch the take aways as I am JUST on the border)

They've jumbled it up a little and made it more white .... but it's the same old same old

When I was looking for a Nissan xtrail a sunroof was a must have, as per Fracster great for hanging out off for photographing wildlife and the xtrail as one huge sunroof
