WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Returning to daylight after two very busy days, and the sun is shining with blue skies. What a wonderful world. :)

It actually happened yesterday but I got told what my bonus amount it....... although it immediately turned into WAMT as the company has made a decision to "re-invest" 30% of my bonus that will materialise as stock once it goes public again.... not ETA on when that's likely to happen and it'll be another 3-6 months until we can sell the shares after the sale.

Yes, I know I'm lucky to get any bonus at all BUT having a 7 month old baby and the wife's income having been reduced to SMP since July the additional cash would have made a massive difference to us.
 
It's Thursday...which means tomorrow's Friday :D
 
After an abysmal first hole, scoring 14 (?)Stapleford points over the other 8 to win the (informal) foursome round. Ended up all square in terms of lost and found balls too.
And my 14mm f/2.8 Tamron arriving just before I had to go out so I don't need to collect it tomorrow.
 
A visit to on of the nurses in my village doctors to do my annual drugs review....all went exceptionally well and they're so pleased with my progress, and the the vampire only had to stab me once to get the blood she wanted :woot:
 
When I was in hospital there were 2 vampires doing the rounds. One could strike oil first time, every time and I'd barely feel a scratch, the other had big ... attributes. Not sure how good she was at drawing blood!

The phlebotomist at our surgery is at least 300 years old, but she takes blood without you even feeling it.
She's banned from retiring!!
 
Never let a doctor go drilling for the red stuff...
 
The other weird thing I found was that the finger pricks almost always hurt more than a proper "bite"! SO glad I don't have to do them (NOT a gloat - those that do have to do them have my every sympathy.)

All nurses say that, and it's funny I think I upset the air ambulance doctor in my crash as he wanted to put in a line for pain relief, bare in mine I was 100% compos mentis and not in any pain remarkable on his fifth attempt I told him "Doc I'm not a bloody pin cushion so give it a rest"
 
For the most recent op, the line was put in by a nurse on the emergency admissions ward here in Exeter and that stayed in until I was "done" during which they replaced it (unknown as to whether nurse or doctor/surgeon!). The previous op, several years ago, it was put in by a doctor and the bloody thing tissued so my left arm looked like Popeye's! Ended up with it hooked onto the lifting handle above the bed with a compression bandage on it. Oddly, that experience didn't CMU much!
 
The worst Doctor and needle experiemce I ever had was when I was in the ICU for 12 weeks back in 2010 because of pneumonia and the one doctor wanted to do an arterial blood gas, which are painful anyway, but he completely missed and went into the nerve....now that really hurt a lot, and we came to a mutual agreement that he wasn't having a second attempt :lol: :lol:

If you want unbelievable pain in the nerves due to a needle...may I recommend a screwed up lumbar puncture lol

slightly OT - you know how doctors say "this won't hurt a bit" and then its excruciatingly painful ? - when i dislocated my knee a few years back the doctor said " this is going to hurt" that was when I knew i was in trouble.... (he was right it hurt like a b*****d and the whole of casualty learnt some new and exciting vocabluary )

Yeah I can understand that's I've never actually dislocated anything however Darrell makes almost a habit of dislocating his shoulder and I've heard the noises he makes from it, in fact one time he did it I almost got took down by the police who were passing and though I'd sparked him out because of the way he fell on the floor :lol:

I'm pretty good at it as well. It was part of my army training and one of my favourite party tricks to confuse a nurse or doctor :)

Not bothering to set an early alarm as I didn't believe the forecast and being proved correct....full sleep FTW

And slightly different: but what would cheer me up...a real covering of snow, like a foot or so of it so I could go out and get some nice snow covered vistas, rather than the barly a dusting we did get

Don't know where you are but in Cambridge we had a small flurry last night but nothing settled. Am sure all these news reports are made up!!

I'm right in the middle in Warwickshire, I think I was 8 the last time we saw real snow, don't let's let that stop the local numpties get all worked up and cause the entire nation to grind to a halt at the merest flurry though :lol: :lol:

Yep, I've never actually sold a car, I tend to run them till they die...suppose some would consider my car luxury but for me it's just the right car for my needs :thumbs:
 
Spending the evening with my sisters......whom I haven't seen in an age.......both off which have been reduced to tears and bubbling about how much they miss me not being at home
