WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Maybe :D or maybe in the night and astro section :D
I've not tried any light painting for a while. I've been keeping a closer eye on any aurora forecast app and website as possible. Also for lower prices of a new camera after messing with my sisters 6D.

Congrats on getting out and about again Matt.

Thanks Ruth

  I feared as much once you've had access to clean higher ISO it almost hurts to go back from it :P just getting back started on the first of this years night meets up closer to your part of the world as its in North Yorkshire

Wcmut: as there aren't any projectors available, nor smart boards, my coordinator is on holiday, the support team both called in sick, I printed out all meeting papers myself and made bundles with paper clips on the corner.

I haven't used paper clips in ages. I was asking for some carbon copy paper for the minutes to be recorder but was met by just empty looks. I love paper clips and history. :)

Had a nice morning out. Insomnia has reared it's very ugly head again with 2hrs sleep last night and an hour the night before but with nice mornings and light we've had here in Glasgow the insomnia mattes less when your outside, in the fresh air before everyone else and getting lovely images. Just watching the sunrise has made my day

Just got a quote for having two exotic rugs cleaned. It was rather less than I feared, so booked for next Monday.

Always nice when bills/quotes don't make you wince

What cheered me up today, well today marks near as damn it a full 6 months on a diet, and today I took some photos of me, and the difference has actually surprised me a lot as till now I'd been struggling to see what others were telling me about my weight loss

Well done, Matt. Before and after picks?

WCMUT? Early still so not much apart from the cat chasing an empty bog roll on the landing.

Overslept :-)
Cheer me up? You betcha.....normally awake around 4am without an alarm :woot:

Yeah it's been quite amazing to see the difference...don't get me wrong I've lost barely a fraction of what I need to lose but it's going in the right direction :P

Wcmut I decided to do a little experiment and walked against traffic at the station and underground. It was wonderful to see everyone moving out of the way

Finding out how to block requests for candycrush (or any other app) on facebook. Little things....

As that Chinese philosopher said, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. I need to take the steps you're taking for a while!

Yeah exactly, as I said last night to a friend on Facebook I'd say I'm now about a mile into the marathon

And I suppose before someone asks

Still a bloody long way to go, but I'm feeling very good about it

Eyes on the goal! As you say, a way to go but you're doing well. Now you're back on your feet, you can hopefully lob a little exercise into the mix which should help a bit too.

Cheers guys, yeah still got a lot of work to do, but it's all going in the right direction...and I've spent long enough going the wrong way it's just good to be back on the right course

Superb work Matt, that's a very big drop from those before photos, nice one. Keep it going :)

Glad to hear you're enjoying your motoring freedom Matt.

It's very good to be back on the road again...I've really missed it, just got to zero in my spacial awareness as its been a long time since I've driven my Range Rover so just getting back used to the size, no big issue really though...just planning lot of outings now...sadly the London trip is going to be stop and then go again, don't have a lot of spare time down there as I'll need to get back up to the Midlands for an evening meeting :( would have liked to get some long exposure time in on Westminster bridge....unless I set of stupidly early and do it in the morning then kill a little time before my appointment....choices choices

Well today has been a very good day infact I'd say every part of it was good, managed to pretty much do Warwickshire to Westminster in my best time ever, and no I wasn't speeding infact I arrived at hospital so early that I was there before this mornings appointments even started to my doctor did my assessment right away which mean I was actually ready to get back on the way home by 10:30am when my actual appointment wasn't till 11:45, though I did hang around for a bit catching up with some of the medical staff who looked after me when I was there back in 2010

I only used 1/2 a tank of deisel, which was better than I expected, and my car performed flawlessly which I hear you saying but you'd expect that to be the case, and so would I but for the fact till recently the car had been off the road for a couple of years and this was the first time it's had a real long range run out since putting it back on the road

And to cap it off, I've finally been weighed and since my last official weight nearly 3 years ago I was actually below thst figure, which is pleasing as it means with my dieting I have undone all the crap Ive piled on to my frame in the last few years plus a little more, and knowing today's figure it means I know have a bench mark figure to reference from for any future weigh in

I'd forgotten that you'd been housebound for so long - no wonder you gained a gramme or 2!

Glad you had a good run down and back.

Thankfully I'd not been, housebound for all three years since the last weigh in but my diet was pretty s***e for a lot of it ;) but alls moving in the correct direction

Edit, and thanks all went well today driving front :P

I'm good thanks, though did see some lovely cars yesterday in that London :P

A plump mackerel, baked in a chili, garlic and lemon juice marinade, with rice and peas.

Fan-bloody-tastic.

Wish I had a bottle of rum.

Taking my dad out in the car, this is the first time he has been out of the house in far far far to long unless it's involved a trip to hospital in either an PTS or Emergency Ambulance :woot: this milestone makes me extreamly happy

Just catching up on things as I come across threads. I imagine it's a real struggle for you Mat so all the best in your quest to lose weight.
I seem to remember your night shoots were very good, you still getting out and about with the camera?

Thanks Bruce, I am starting to get out again but not been out for a night shoot just yet as the weather or plans have been against me  should be out for a personal night session at the weekend though, also working on plans for several group nights

On the diet front it's going very well and I'm enjoying it too :D

Excellent. Always nice to hear positive vibes
keep at it on all fronts, it won't always be easy but hopefully you feel the support and it helps in a small way if it does get you down a bit

Thanks, I somewhat fortunate to have some great support from family but also on Facebook to, not to mention I have my village doctor who calls into the house at least once a month to see how the diet is going, not that she ever calls lol just walks in if she is passing (part of the reason I love village life) and now I also add the service of the dietition at the specialist ward I'm under in London  so actually I likely have more support than nearly every other dieter in the country
