My wife needs antibiotics for a cut to her finger that's become infected. Really painful when she catches it on anything so she called the surgery at 9.20 this morning thinking the 'rush' from 8.30 would be over. All she'd have to do was to send a photo of it and a doctor would assess it and prescribe the antibiotics which is eventually what happened. The messsage on the appointment line said " You are over 30 in the queue" . Same at 9.50 so she went to the supermarket and I kept the line open. She returned from the supermarket to find she was down to 14th in the queue at 10.40am.The call was answered at 11.10. so 1hr 50 mins. It never used to be like this, the wait used to be maximum 20 minutes and I'm baffled as to why waiting times on calls has become so long. Seems, from radio phone-ins, that it's the same nationwide. Employ more receptionists maybe ?
