The Missus showed me a birthday photo that a woman had taken of herself ( a selfie ), her mate sent it to her.
Missus said "isn't she gorgeous, it's a lovely photo isn't it?".
Taken on a phone, and one of those silly filters added. It really does baffle me, I would rather see her natural beauty.

My car went for its 2 year service today. When it had its 1 year service last year, I asked them to look at the rear offside tyre as it seemed to be going down a lot more than the others according to the sensors. They said everything was fine with it.
It hasn't been driven that much since but recently, the display started showing that the tyre was at 18psi (optimum is 36) but the tyre didn't look low and a friend who works in the car industry said it didn't look low. So I mentioned it again when they picked the car up this morning, thinking it might be a problem with the sensors.
I then got a call this afternoon to say that there was a small puncture albeit reparable. Firstly, how does a tyre get to half the optimum psi without looking semi-flat and have I been driving on a punctured tyre for over a year?![]()
Thanks for thatI think I'll get one.
I have a cheap Halfords foot pump I've had for years but the gauge is all over the place.
I have an Oasser one that I bought for my chair. Tge issue was that there was I very slow puncture that they didn't spot on last year's service.Marc..I bought a Halfords digital tyre inflator a few years ago. It's one of, if not, the best accessory purchase for the car I've made. It stays in the car. I paid £39. Once a week I check the tyre pressures and keep a note of them in a book I keep in the car and star a tyre that is below the optimum value. This allows me to see any tyre that is consistantly lower than it should be at which point I take it to the tyre centre to have them check it. On a couple of occasions they've found a nail. The digital version is much easier to read than the analogue one. On the back of the unit is a channel that you press the cable into that screws onto the valve. The open compartment is where , after winding up, the long power cable goes into, so it's tidy and very compact. This long power cable has a connector on the end that will fit into the charger in your car. What people used to call the cigarette lighter but these days it's used to charge devices. Plug it in, start the engine and set what pressure you want and then press the start the button and off it goes and stops at whatever value you selected. It also had a very bright light in case you need to use it in the dark. If you Google for reviews it comes out well. There's an advanced model (£54) but that seems to be aimed at motorhome owners and not necessary for a car.I think on the advanced model it allows for deflation too but if any of my tyre pressures need to be reduced I just press on the valve and re-check the pressure. My understanding is that even a couple of lbs can make a difference. You can select the read-out to show in psi or bars.
It's so useful that I bought one to go in my wife's car, too.

The gym has disabled bays that are always occupied by special editions of desirable cars eg BMW M4, Merc A45S, etc. I never quite know whether the driver (it’s always a man driving and then working out alone in the gym) has a genuine disability or they’re parking there because there’s extra space around the bays.
The award is reserved for the most senior civil servants and military poersonnel.
I cant find the details right now, but there was some research done looking at driver attitudes categorised by car 'status'. In brief, the more expensive / higher status car you drive, the more likely you are to drive like a selfish a$$hole!1. An email says I can preorder advent calendars from July onwards.

Is there a blue badge displayed?
My sister (a blue badge holder) used to park across the back of cars parked in disabled bays if they weren't showing the badge.
Nope.Is there a blue badge displayed?
Nope.
Probably because they're just selfish arschlochs. The trouble is there is no 'worthwhile' penalty for these tossers short of breaking both their legs.![]()
I find it all very baffling and I guess it maybe shows that it's best not to invest too much faith in social media as it really isn't the real world.
