WBMT.....What baffled me today

I was seriously impressed that the bus driver didn't get out and offer words of advice to the car driver!
Absolutely, there is a fair chance I may well have explained the error of his way!

And then give you a filthy look because you are positioned correctly
Best example I ever had of this was that I was on a slip road having just left a dual carriageway. The slip road is two lanes wide in both directions but my side filters to one lane as it bends to the right to go over a flyover. The opposite direction goes from one lane to two lanes. A woman driving in the opposite direction wanting to turn right half way down the slip road, goes to the right of the central reservation and heads straight towards me. Boy did I get a dirty look for being on my own side of the road.

Last week I was standing on a vantage point that gave excellent views up and down the Rhine
Young couple took the obligatory mobile selfies of both aspects although none without their mugshots in the photo
Then I noticed the woman had a DSLR on a shoulder strap, thought that would signal the more serious snapping
She proceeded to fire the camera up and promptly took one picture, it was of the board that identified what could be seen

Obviously she didn't want to clutter up the the "Mobiles card"

I was also sat outside a bar on the river front in Maastricht having a cooling beer next to an old building with an interesting doorway
More than one person snapped it on their phone whilst still walking, didn't even stop let alone find out what it was.

Perhaps they weren't beer drinkers, or just not thirsty. ;)

Today's pace of life no one has time to stop and look .... Apparently..

I spend quite a bit of free time at Whipsnade zoo, I can often be stood watching / snapping some animal or other, when a family approaches,
glances and say's "That pens empty too"
FFS! its right in front of you!
I've lost count of the times that's been said in my ear shot alone!

Oh yes I know exactly what you mean
I’ve been sat watching the jaguars at Chester they walk around on a sort of a circuit and come and go
I’ve had people turn up wait a few seconds and say there’s nothing here!
I try to say just wait a few minutes but most just stay a minute or so and go

Recently one early morning, when joining the M6 I came across this sign, it should be banned! Its blood dangerous!

Do you know how fast I had to go, to get 2 chevrons behind the cars in front?

The bloke driving along the A12 in his Mercedes convertible. I don't think it was because it is a lovely sunny day that he had the roof down, more the fact that with the top of his head a good couple of inches, or so, above the top of the windscreen frame, it would have been very difficult to drive with the roof up.
He did seem to have the seat in a forward position with the backrest upright though. Perhaps he didn't know how to work the electric seat or it just wasn't working. Certainly didn't look to be a comfortable driving position.

The Wheeler Dealers programme on TV features mechanic Ed China who is 6ft 7in tall. An episode in which he rebuilt a Triumph Spitfire included some footage of him driving it. He wore old fashioned goggles and his head stuck up several inches above the windscreen.

If this bloke had been driving a small Mercedes convertible, i could have understood it, no idea what model it was, but it wasn't small.
Ed China has trouble shoehorning himself into a lot of cars, even the ones he can't get behind the wheel in, he still seems to have his knees up around his ears when sat in the passenger seat. :)

Went to a craft fair today, at least three people had pushchairs for their dog(s) for what is effectively a very slow walk around a single field.....

Ad on TV (DeAgostini?) for a magazine to build your own X wing Star Wars fighter - £10 per mag, 100 mags... so £1k... why???

The size of the thing too. Who has room for something like that?

At uni, I knew someone who would collect things like that. Star Wars related memorabilia. Had all the Lego Star Wars stuff.

WBMT?
The "Latest" Medical findings, on the news this morning.
It seems that Vegetarians are more prone to strokes than meat eaters,
who for their part are more prone to heart attacks than Veggies!

But of course this is only relative this week, next week someone will of course have "proved" that eating meat and two two veg will make you
prone to both!

If you don't eat anything, it's guaranteed you won't die of either a stroke or a heart attack. :)
You will technically die of heart failure. ;)

You will however die with a smile on your face which I suspect few vegans will. Queue hate mail... :exit:

Why some USB leads are charging only?
Not the first time I have wondered why a device can't be seen when plugged into the pc

Why some USB leads are charging only?
Someone once surmised it was because people don't their personal stuff offered up as an automatic share on a works computer that could be scanned/backed up by the IT dept, when all they want to do is charge their device.

Can see the reasoning, but on my devices you have to opt in for data transfer and I assume many others do too

Google weather location on my phone.
Just pulled up in car park at work and checked my phone. Normally the location is one of the following, Basildon, Laindon or Dunton Waylets. But today it informs me I am in Great Warley. Going by the lack of spaces in the car park, (this one is never more than half full) i assume a lot of people have transferred from Head Office at Warley which is closing this month.
Is Google Weather trying to make them feel at home? :)

A guy at my last job plugged his ipod into the back of the office BMS PC to charge.
Unbeknownst to him, it added itself as a drive (ID'd as {name's} ipod).
He was :eek::eek::facepalm::sorry: when I informed him his porno movie stash was now visible on a computer head office had remote access to...

I have always assumed that it is to save money. A charging only lead only has two wire cores rather than four which makes it cheaper to make. The saving might just be a fraction of a penny each but that adds up when you are making many millions of the things.
