WB on a jpeg?

Hi all

I have a photo my friend wants me to sort out for him. Now ive only looked at it quick but its shot with a P+S and in jpeg format. and its inside shot evening time so a flash has gone off but only half the image has good lighting and the other half darker. Now i want to know is how do i change the temperture of the photo? as its very orange. I cant post the image up at the moment as im away from my imac so cant upload it to this. will do in afew days. Anyway thanks

This is where I'd start

Go to Image / Adjustments / Match Colour

Check the box that says "Normalize"

Then tweak from there.

It all depends on the photosoftware. In Elements you'd use the remove colour cast option in colour adjustments. It does a pretty good job

Alternativly you can open jpegs in CS3 and elements 6 raw converter which will give you access to the white balence controls.

Go to Edit>Preferences>File Handling. Check the Prefer Adobe ACR for jpegs box

Oh, I'd forgotten about that one.

File / Open / Select the image then set format to Camera Raw

Actualy its "Open AS" Open will not do it.
