I've had a few photos of mine published in the local rag from time to time and on the BBC Humber website, but never in a colour magazine - until now.

Some of you may already know of the UKweatherworld website, I post a few weather related photos on there from time to time. One of their members is the picture editor of an international weather magazine and asked if they could use an image of mine for the magazine. This was sometime last summer.

Well, I got a message the other week to say that they have used my image - on the cover:woot:

The original photo was with my old Sony A100, I used a poloriser but hadn't thought about taking a few shots of the scene for any HDR treatment. It wasn't until I got back to the PC and thought that with the sky being a nice blue with the poloriser, HDR and Photomatix might do some good.

I used the 'cheating' method and just used three versions of the same shot and it came out like the version you see at the top of this thread. I'm pleased with it, I think it's one of my best images I've ever taken and 'created'.

well done. Have they added clouds on to the picture on the cover? Or is it just reflections?

Good point, probably reflections from the light from my window when I took the snaps this morning. I know the cover of the mag is darker than my original image was.

That's awesome - and so very true about not many people being able to say they have been published front and back cover on the same publication!! :thumbs:
