I have a waterproof electric box on my house wall in the back garden. I use it when I'm mowing the lawn or using the trimmer.

It's mainly the lead I need 100% waterproof for the few weeks it will be used. I can keep the plug end in the greenhouse or the shed. At night it will all be turned off and unplugged at the main switch in the lobby (which is for electric box on my house wall)
I want it so I can put up Christmas lights at the back of the garden.

Is there a waterproof extension lead anyone can recommend?

Ot sure if you will find a waterproof mains 240v extension lead.

Wet areas (building sites etc) usually have battery or 110v kit.

I use 110v kit at home in my garage and garden.

I have one of these for outdor trailiing use of electric tools and petrol mower a hedge trimmer.

How about one of THESE mounted on an old garden fork with provision for cable storage? (Screwfix used since I clicked through Steve's link - Toolstation may be cheaper for a similar product.) Depending on whether the source socket is RCD protected, you might want/need the RCD equipped version of the socked linked to.

Ok. Cheers for the help Steve.
I will be interested if you find a mains waterproof traing lead.

My garden office has an external platic glanded dor covering a waterproof 13A socker which has it's own RCD. The actual socket is embedded inside a threaded ring which a 13 A rounded plug with a glanded screw thread which made a waterproof seal with the socket. It was there when I bought the house and was good for an electric mower. Not used now.

Not seen them on sale these days but better than the current MK style double waterproof sockets.

How about one of these? Move it where you need it!

I have a waterproof storage box that the other end will go into. The one that will sit in the shed or greenhouse. It was a waterproof mains lead to get me there I need.

I will certainly post here if I find anything.

You could make one up using 'ARCTIC' mains cable.

I would be tempted to put it in external conduit to protect it. I think you can get vermin resistant.

I used the arctic cable for linking external lights and power for deck lights. I used the heaveier gauge to overcome v
oltage drops on the logedt runs. I used armoured cable to provide the power to my workshop 50m from the house.

Funnily I am in Kent soon (Orpington). I have a big family celbration.

Do you have a tame electrician around? Ordinarily many people just throw flexible cables down and get on with it. Mains electricity taked no prisonrs whe it can go to ground via a human and damp soil.

A few extra quid for a safe installation done is cheaper than a funeral.

Have a look at caravanning kit. Caravan leads are plugged in all weathers outdoors. Having said that the connections may not match, but may be worth looking.

I know you said you want to use it for just a few weeks, but outdoor power can be very useful so how about armoured cable? All the usual electrical precautions need to be taken but it is tough stuff and difficult to damage.

I've got no where for it to go underground. I have a large patio before the garden.

Armoured cable does not have to be buried. It can be cleated to stone ecterior walls and if need be there are weatherproof joining kits.

You can cleat it tightly cleated to your stone patio on a boundary where you can't trip on it or catch it. There are many boxes that you can use to run security lights to etc.

I'll ask around for a price but I really want something just to last the few weeks over xmas.

Cable is waterproof, it's the connectors at either end you need to take with...
Very true but rodents etc can and do knaw on cables.... tbey provide quite s display when the hit +ve load! It's why indoor flex is not the best in the wild. Armoured and arctic are resistant in different ways. My motorhome mains connectors are too.
