Hi are there any download programs that let you design and create your own watermark to put on your photos ?
Thanks

Ive always used Photoshop (PSE 10 and CS6) to create mine and saved them as a brush shape. Then to apply them i add a transparent layer, select the brush i have saved and click once to add it to the transparent layer, then adjust the opacity to suit.

To do this;
>Open a new file (i would opt for a transparent layer)
>Use the text tool, or any other drawing to create your watermark
>Then select the magic wand tool (ensure 'contiguous' is un-ticked)
>Click somewhere on the text so it is selected
>From the 'edit' menu choose 'Define brush from selection'
>Name the brush and select OK

You will now find the watermark brush shape in the Brushes. If you don't have Photoshop you can download the full version as a 30 day trial.

I wouldn't waste your time if someone wanted to steal your image they could remove it in 2mins in photoshop.

Provided they

A- have photoshop
B- know how to use it.

Personally if you don't want the image stolen don't put it online. Id look at a watermark as more of an advert for you than a deterrent.

I currently have faststone and nikon viewnx, i know the watermarks can be removed quite easily, and i dont mind if someone uses one of my photos just thought it would be nice to put one on to give it that little professional touch.

if the composition is a professional level the watermark will ruin the photo. it won't give it a "professional touch"

I wouldn't use watermarks at all. Like mentioned here, they're ugly and unprofessional, and so very easy to remove.
