Anyone reccomend any decent FREE watermarking software, ideally be able to batch watermark and allow import of my own logo as well
and help to keep the site free for all

I use PhotoMarks for batch watermarking, it's pretty much designed for this kind of operations. I use the Windows version, but it works on Mac too. It comes with a free trial, so you can try it out.
