Watermarking Help - Lightroom 3

Hello,

I've been playing around on LR3 with the watermark features, which are excellent in terms of customisation, but I'm trying to use the LR3 Facebook and Flickr plug-ins to upload my photos to each - the problem I'm having is if I set the watermark for Flickr publish service, for example, it will apply it in the same place on all photos, which means some photos the watermark doesn't look right and needs to be in a difference position.

I can't find a way to have more than one watermark preset on the same upload - am I missing something or would I have to create a new publish service (Flickr, Facebook, etc) for each style of watermark I want to apply, then split the photo's into each of these?

It seems odd to me that it's not possible to have various watermarks in one upload, but maybe I am missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can only watermark in one location per batch, but it's not exactly hard to run two or three batches depending on where you want the overprint.

How about :

- configure the Publish setting with one watermark (etc)
- select the appropriate photos with shift+click
- Hold ALT and choose "Publish Selected"

repeat for each different watermark. Shouldn't take long.


Or design a watermark that works with more of your photos (different colour, position, size, etc).


Finally, you could look at watermarking with Mogrify2 instead, as that has more complex options including graphic watermarks.

Hi, thanks for the tips. I was wondering if there was a way to part publish a collection I have been playing with various opacity, size, etc but there always seems to be at least one pic that it ruins.

You could also flag or star all the photos you know need a different watermark to make it easier to select just those.
