After seeing a few of my shots popping up in places they shouldn't be lately I figured it was time to start putting a simple watermark on my image.

I am currently trying to do it this way:
Created a logo (.PNG format) with a transparent background.
Open image, start a new action, do File > Place and then use the alignment to get it at the centre at the bottom.
Once it's aligned I stop the action and use the image processor to do this to all images.

Now, this works great, with ONE exception, which is driving me mad.

With each image the size of the watermark is varying, sometimes it'll be far too small sometimes it'll be way too big depending on the crop.

I have been trying for far too long now, and the only solution I can come up with is resizing the photos to a set size, however I'd quite like to be able to offer full res versions of all of them so I'd rather avoid this if possible.

Any other ideas, methods, alternative programs etc?

What I do is use the image processor in cs6 to resize the images to say 1000 px on the long side.

This way you have images that are all the same size.

I will then make a watermark action for the landscape orientation images and another for the portrait images.

Once done I will split the files into separate folders, ie portrait and landscape orientation. Then run the appropriate actions on each of the folders....and your done.

This may be a long winded way of doing it, but it works for me:shrug:

Nope, definitely makes sense to me. Pretty much as I was doing though but sadly doesn't get me around the wanting to do high res problem where they're all varied sizes.

Thanks for the tip on landscape/portrait though, hadn't thought of that.

Why do you want a watermark on full res pics anyway?

Most folk display lower res then sell the hi-res?
