ive tried the 2 on this forum but cant figure it out

its for cs5

cheers guys

Google 'CS5 watermark brush' and you'll find a load of tutorials for creating a watermark using a custom brush, which I find to be the most efficient way of doing it in PS.

The very easiest way is create a new layer above your image, use the text tool to write your copyright, adjust the opacity of the layer to suit and then merge layers.

This can be quite tedious though if you have several images to do. If you follow DemiLion's advice, setting up a custom brush takes a little more work at the outset, but makes the application of watermarks easier once you have created one.

The one thing that I forgot to point out was that a brush is only going to work if your watermark is monochrome.

If you want more than one colour then layering (as above) is going to be the best approach!

thats a very good tut but i get stuck when it says to open the water mark, she says open here but i cant seem to do it

After you have created the watermark you would save it as a PSD say to My Pictures.
You then open your image to be watermarked then the PSD watermark and drag and drop it onto the image......here you may need to resize the watermark based on the original image size.
Hope I have picked up on the point you were concerned about, if not, at what time during the 12 minute tutorial is your query mentioned.

also how do i type the angle of text as i cant see where to change it

Say, you have your text on two different layers.
CTR + T highlights the layer to be transformed, then click the link at the top as a precaution then type in a negative amount -90 in the angle setting (again at the top - to the right of the link) to turn your text layer through 90degrees
Dont forget ALT + 0169 created the copyright symbol = ©Dave

Hi. I like to add an fx to the type layer, then reduce the fill opacity to 0% so you can see through it, just leaving the fx visible. Tried that?

Hi Mat,

Here are two bits of soft that are really useful and I have used both to good effect.

The first is a free programme whch will put a basic watermark on your images..It can be set up to batch process and you can create your very own basic text watermarks.

The second is a much better programme but it is not free. I have this soft and use it all the time..Great for web gallery watermarks...it has many settings for not only simple watermarks, but also embossing effect etc etc etc.

I can personally recomend both
