I have been asked to show a number of my photos at a Football Club presentation and I thought it would be good to have my name on them.
I have followed a number of "Watermark" [if that is what I am looking for] threads and got nowhere.....I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to the Laptop.
What I want is my name and number on the bottom of a hundred or so photos.................is there an idiot proof way of doing this / adding a watermark?
Any help appreciated.

try using faststone photo resizer its free
browse for your files,in the main window add the files you want to use,
select a output folder then advanced options.
(resize them if you want)
select the text option in the advanced options do you text name you want as the watermark eg ©fenman55 check opacity/font/size etc
click convert and all your pics will have a watermark

It's pretty easy with photoshop too, you can either make a custom brus of your sig and click it each pic as you edit, or make an action, check out russel browns website for his digital branding tutorial.

I don't have a lightroom.

I do have photoshop elements 10 [I was given it] but don't know too much about it

With elements I don't think you'll be able to make the action, elements could run actions but in the past didn't have the option to make them (don't know for sure in v10) so that might be an issue for using that route.

I wanted this for Aperture, found this to be good - "BorderFX"

All going very well but:-

1) I can't get the copyright logo on the screen [the alt 0169 doesn't seem to work, is it different because I'm working on a laptop without the numbers at the side?]
2) I have the FastStone logo on the photos, how do I get rid of it?
3) Can I get the watermarked photos back to my Desktop so I can run a slide show?

Sorry to be such a Luddite

for the © symbol on a laptop:
Start menu -> Run -> Charmap
or just type charmap in the search box in the start menu if you have Windows7
then select the © symbol, copy and paste it wherever you need it.

make backups of the pics you want to use.use them to try faststone then you wont make any errors on the originals

in faststone you have the watermark option ticked.thats why you have the fastone logo its an example used by the faststone software

dont use that use the text option and use that to do a watermark you can adjust the font, text size, colour, opacity etc in the text box copy this © then type your name and you'll see the example adjust the setting to suite your requirements i use the copyright logo © i keep it saved in a notepad file on the desktop copy n save that.

the faststone files will be in the folder you used to save them in (output folder)
copy those to your desktop then try/use your slideshow software
