If your not far from Chester it maybe worth a trip across the border into Llangollen, you have the horseshoe falls there

Three Shires Head is on the border of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

It's a bit of a walk, but well worth it. There are a couple of small waterfalls with different viewpoints to experiment with.

Hi Mark,

If you use OS leisure map site and search for Three Shires Head it will show you exactly where it is on their excellent OS map. Click on "Leisure" to see it on the most detailed 25k scale map.

From Wikipedia.....

Three Shire Heads is the point on Axe Edge Moor where Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire meet, at UK grid reference SK009685, or 53°12′47″N 1°59′13″W / 53.213°N 1.987°W. It is on the River Dane, which marks the Cheshire border in this area

RSPB have some directions......

There are a couple of laybys on the Congleton to Buxton road, from where you can reach Three Shires Head in 20-30 minutes - longer on the return journey, it's uphill!

It's a nice walk, providing you have a nice lightweight travel tripod!

I know its not Cheshire or Staffordshire and I don't know how far away from you it is, but there's quite a popular one in the Peak District - Lumsdale waterfall, not far from Matlock.

I think there's a few in the Peak District so maybe make a day of it and travel round?
