Watercolour painting effect

I was looking at trying to create a watercolour effect painting from an image. Would my best option be to create one from scratch in CS using one of the many tutorials out there or try and find a plugin? If a plugin is the way to go can anybody suggest one that they might have tried?

There are lots of different ways to do it, i use a program called Virtual Painter Deluxe, it has lots of different effects, watercolour included.

Practice doing it yourself. Where's the fun in pressing a button in a plug in or pre-set? No skill in that.

agree, follow a tutorial, understand the concept (it will give you MORE ideas) and you can always save it as an action to turn into a one-click process
