I'm looking for a water bottle for daily use, ideally one of the ones with the flip-up straw but there are so many out there and they range widely in price. Some of them are rather expensive but the cheap ones get some poor reviews, especially with regards to leakage and plastic tasting water. Also would like one with some sort of loop for ease of carrying.

Anyone use one of these type, any recommendation?

Thanks as always.

I've got a couple of THESE and I've never had a single issue with them.
One of the best thing is the necks are wide enough to get ice through.
No leakage.
Each came with a neoprene carrier + strap.

Oh, and I tried one of the personal Brita bottles........total rubbish!!

I have a preference for the Camel Back ones. I have three and they've served me well in the Alps and Himalayas, as well as at home. They are pretty tough and will take knocks.

I use a glogg bottle, was a bit pricey but very good and not hat a drop leak out when closed.

Mine has the flip straw.

Costco - pack of 3 15 quid used for 2 years now and dishwasher safe - no negatives to report they are flip up with mouth friendly and shaped straw

I have always used a Sigg bottle - have only bought the one and it must be over 20 years old. Linky

Thanks for all the replies

I've looked at reviews (amazon) for the ones recommended here and it's interesting that all of them have a few negative reviews revolving around leakage and, in the case of the Sigg bottles, the lining coming away. Hard to know what to believe really, especially given that the positive reviews far outweigh the negative ones (100 5 star reviews for the Siggs)

We take bicycle drinks bottles on holiday - wide necks to get ice cubes into, click to seal valves, reasonable capacity and they fit in the insulated jackets we've got (and drink bottle cages to carry on bikes/chairs/scooters...)

Can't really go wrong with camelback bottles. Mine has taken a kicking on days out. Never leaked and no funny tastes.
I had to replace the mouthpiece once as my little one chewed it.

Another vote for Camelbak but also just re-using any old plastic bottle... it's what I do when hillwalking)

In addition to my Sigg I also use a camelback when hiking or biking and endorse Paul's comment.

I would sound a slight note of caution about reusing plastic bottles. In the back of my mind I recall a story about plastic water bottles producing cancerous substances when left in the sun. This was quite a few years ago and I don't recall if it was substantiated and what type of bottle was involved.

FWIW my wife likes hers.

UltrAspire bottles are nice (but no straw and they have an odd magnet which "may also impart substantial health benefits to the liquid enclosed" so feel free to ignore anything they say...). Ultimate Direction also good.

I really had high hopes for the Brita :(
