Saw the Watchmen movie last night and both me and my mate came out really not knowing what to think! It is an amazing movie, very graphic but it did go back and forth in time alot plus it's nearly 3hrs long!!!!!!

Anyone else seen it and what did you think?

I haven't seen it yet but a mate of mine saw it on the opening night, he said it dragged on a bit and there was a lack of action scenes. He said most of the action scenes you see in the trailer for the film? He wasn't too impressed.

Either way, I will go and see it soon I reckon.

I saw it the other day, not really knowing much about it. I think it was ok, certainly not amazing.

From what I've read of people's thought over at AVF, it's a bit of a Marmite film.

It's a bit too literal an interpretation of the graphic novel. "Interpretation" might actually not be strong enough, rather "reproduction". Admittedly there are some changes (to avoid it being even longer still).

I enjoyed it, but thought that it would have been better suited as a TV mini-series in 3 parts (with the extra bits added) or as a more radical interpretation.

The 60s soft-porn sequence mid-way just murdered the atmosphere as the auditoriuim burst into fits of the giggles :)

Still, I'll no doubt buy it on DVD and enjoy it every now and then.

I thought it was great too.

I think if you go into the film expecting a action packed comic book movie then you'll be disappointed. It's much darker, deeper and longer with more sub plots than your usual action movie.

There were the odd cheesy scenes but they didn't spoil the rest of the film for me.

I hadn't read the graphic novel before and didn't even know it was one or even knew what the film was about before I saw it, I just said to my gf that the name sounded interesting so we saw it.

I loved it, chose it over coursework and was chuffed with my choice :D

(I did the coursework I'm not that bad, I just did it after the film ended - at 1 AM lol)

I thought it was awesome, loved every minute - damn long though, nearly missed the last train home :D

I went to see it having not read the novel, loved the style of of filming.

I must be getting old as throughout the film i kept thinking 'God this must have been an expensive film to make!'

7/10 tbh

Some glaring faults with the story, a bit too long, but a refreshing twist on the whole comic book super hero film genre.

Kids took me to see it for my birthday recently, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a tad hacked off that it wasn't on at Glasgow iMax, apparently the distributers wanted too much. Had to make do with the 'super seats' at Vue.
Special effects were stunning, especially fight scenes.

18 people in the auditorium though.......... Still at least we had clear views and no wee neds yapping through it and making noises.

Thats what I thought too, very true to the novel but thats what put me off it. They have a creative license to run free and make it work for the silver screen, Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, etc all steer clear of the comic books and the films where better for it.

Alan Moore who wrote the novel washed his hands with it before it even got off the ground, he refused to take any payment, refused to have his name put to it and refused them making it but it was out of his hands. Shame really as he has hated everything of his thats been turned into a film I really Liked V but he hated that too apparently.

I loved it - not at all what I was expecting, but from the title sequence onwards, I was on the edge of my seat...
Great effects, some good action sequences and some very nice boobs - which is always a good thing...

V was the mutt's dangly bits. If ever there was a movie waiting to be made using today's CGI and filmed in iMax, V is the one. Having said that, I hated the 'League of Extraordianary Gentlemen' movie.
