Watches

another interesting Seiko if you are interested in "older" Seiko watches

6106 8100 - the first Seiko "Diver" - from September 1969 - advertised to be waterproof down to 70m

I picked it up of eBay a few years ago - dial was completely faded/damaged - managed to find a really good dial from a guy I knew in the US - then had the watched completely stripped and serviced

good article if you are interested

I've got quite a few "older" Seiko watches - I really like the older "vintage" models

Servicing is still possible, there are a few guys in the UK who do a very good job, but as with most vintage stuff "condition" is all important

images/enlarged close ups tend to show imperfections/usage that you do not see with the eye

My RLT 8 Valjoux (Swiss) 7750 chronograph. It wears big as the movement is massive and the rotor actually swings your wrist!!!

For a lack of a better place to ask I'm asking here since I have seen people selling expensive watches on here. So hoping someone here can enlighten me.

I was recently showing my friend my new mechanical watch and he had a laugh at my expense because my watch box is supposedly was more expensive than my watch "collection".
Googling this brand did show some crazy prices, I didn't even watch boxes sold for that much.

I have attached a few pictures here. I have removed my watches since I don't want to be laughed at again! :D
Just wondering how much a box like this would be worth?

(p.s. It's not for sale)

Rapport are one of the very expensive brands when it comes to watch boxes, second hand they can reach £600 to £1k depending on model, you seem to have one of the more desirable.
