I've just joined the RSPB.

Anyone on tp a member of the RSPB?

What are the best reserves in the London & South East area?

My current zoom is a Nikon 70-300 but have been thinking of either getting a teleconverter or when funds allow going for a Sigma 50-500mm lens.

Finally any tips for bird photography?

I dont know how East you can go.. but Minsmere in Suffolk is lovely... nice and wild.

I've been a member for many years ...

Probably too far for you but my two toppest reserves are Minsmere and Titchwell and probably in that order imhgo ...

Also worth a visit is Rye Meads, especially in breeding season as they have hides overlooking breeding sites for the Kingfishers ...

Rainham Marshes is good too as is Fowlmere if not too far out for you ... :shrug:
