weekly Wasn`t enjoying it anymore *52* 2012 ... Given Up

I never saw your first version Paulie but I do like the edit. The oof lights in the background add to the magical feel. Nice vibrant colours too, I dont mind the forward hand, my eye is drawn more to the figure and the background. Iain

Took a while coming this week ..... But got there in the end :D

One of my many vices  .....

Week 12: Vice by Paulie W, on Flickr

Vice - nice one - Like the viewpoint, composition, B&W lighting angle. Nuf said?
Is it a self portrait? If so even more kudos on the above list!

Thanks, Mike

Yep, Selfie ....

Hi Paulie

just love MM...very magical , love the lights in the BG & great sharpness on MM

Fab selfie...love it

Magical - I really like thi one. The out of focus background adds to the magical effect.

Vice - Great self portrait. I like the use of B&W and where you've positioned yourself in the frame

A great self portrait - I like the angle you took it from and it really suits black and white!

Excellent shot for vice that. Spot on!

What Peter said.....minor point...but a tad more at top...

Cheers.

Thanks, everyone ...

Easy enough to add a tad on top, Andy, so will have a look into that.

its all been said above Paulie but its a cracking self portrait. Loads of character in there too. Good work all round  Iain

As an aside, you weren't in Leeds over the weekend? I saw a guy who looked just like you, hat and all

No, mate ... Never been up that part of the world :D

Cracking self portrait. I particularly like how the light seems to catch on the cigar highlighting it for the theme:thumbs:

Magical is great, the BG really makes the image.
Only niggle is the OOF hand.

Vice is a great angle.
I'm not sure if they're props or his style, but the hat, rings and glasses really add to the image

Hat and sunnies come out when the sun does (as long as I dont have to see what i`m doing, being blind as a bat), rings are always on :D

Cracking shot, really excellent. Has come together really well.

Thanks, all

See this on your flickr first but I do prefer your soaking up the sun one.

Thanks ... Was a flip of the coin, as to which one to use ...

Vice - What a cracking self portrait... I Can't fault it, great angle, composition, light and love the B&W

Thanks, mate

I REALLY like that shot; I'd never think to do a self portrait from that angle (my stomach would eclipse everything else for one thing), but it works exceptionally well :)

You've got your week numbers mixed up though; vice is week 13 ;)

Day numbers have been adjusted

Off on a tangent (again), with this .....

Entrance to the DVD player  With a Cinemascope ratio crop ...

Week 14: Entrance by Paulie W, on Flickr

Like the creative thinking here Paulie, the crop and processing work well too. Good work all round. Iain

I like this Paulie, it's a good idea and well taken. I like the way you have composed and cropped this!:)

Thanks, Sarah

Hi Paulie

hmmmm....agree with the above comments re unusual take on the theme , great focus on the writing, angle etc......but ( you knew there would be one ! )....maybe it's the crop but I can't see the entrance ?maybe it's the angle the disc is it...were you just putting the disc in ? or maybe it's the darkness to the RHS...or maybe it's just me :suspect:

Don't get me wrong as I do like the shot & the take on the theme.....p'raps I'm just having a blonde moment?

 Thanks Lynne :D
It`s .... ahem Subliminal ;) ... So you can`t actually see the entrance. I did actually try one without a disc, but it looked crap.

I like the crop and depth of field but it's all too dark for me and hence not really saying entrance to me either.

Cheers, mate
It`s all subjetive :D
