weekly Wasn`t enjoying it anymore *52* 2012 ... Given Up

I like the concept and death is something I don't want to happen to me especially if I can see my headstone after!

However, and I dont like to criticise as I have only been taking pictures for about a week and have no clue on the technical aspects at all, but there is something that doesnt work for me :(

I dont know if it's the tree in the bottom corner or maybe the angle of the stone is too steep. It might just be that my brain wont compute the upside down picture properly. It may be that the stone should have been a newer one with less moss and lichen etc.

But definitely a great concept!

Always appreciate some crit, Ben. It`s how we learn
I think the "upside down ness" of the shot is actually what is seen. Obviously I didn`t go any deeper than just lay on top (that was bad enough). Wtth the sky being so crapola today, I went for old and texture as opposed to shiny and new.

Odd angle, feel like I am spinning or something.

Nice shot :)

Thanks Alex
I didn`t want to stay prone for too long, or I might never have got up again

That looks great, and is bang on the theme, though following my own shot for fear I'd be glad to see yours!

Were there other people around when you lay on that grave? I can imagine it'd feel odd even if not.

good start to your 52.

Direction - great take on the theme and will executed.

Fear - love the idea and how you've achieved it. like other have said it is a tad dark, but if thats what you were after it is very well done ( the upside down view does confuse on first viewing!! lol)

look forwad to the next 50 weeks

Nice shot, I agree with the comments about it being a little dark, but then I can see why you did it that way. Good take on the the theme.

Love your fear picture only thing i would say is to clone out the tree.
I do find it a tad dark but i think that adds to the theme.

Darren

Thanks Guys

@ Mark .. There were a couple of kids running around, and I picked my moment

My apologies Paulie, 2 weeks in and I have just got around to your thread.
I love the lighting in your direction photograph, the negative space really works. Good work
I like your fear photograph too, the texture and detail in the headstone really stand out, nowt much you can do about the sky, maybe a revisit at dark o'clock would be in order? The things we do for our art, lying on a grave  whatever next?? Iain

Good shot! Bet it was a bit intimidating getting the shot. Only 50 to go.

It was bad enough during the day , and I am, no way going back in the dark

Thanks mate ....
Intimidating for sure .. It`s not every day, you get to look up at *insert personal choice of deity here*

HI Paulie...finally made it back to your thread....no OCD irks this time either :D

You are :cuckoo:...I did some odd things for this challenge last year but you beat me hands down....nutter

Interesting ( if a touch odd) take on the theme...works really well....I also thought maybe the tree ought to go ...but...if you looked up & saw it it should stay...it's real ...great thinking & well shot mister

ps...don't forget the spreadsheet :p

Roll on week 3...gonna follow your thread with interest after this week me thinks

Sheesh...wonder you didn't get arrested...

Like it...slightly unnerving but cracking perspective, nice textures and some great lighting on the stone.

Cheers and RIP...:D

Really like direction Paul, crisp and clear... which app is that ??

Fear, certainly made me 'fear' the headstone is gonna come crashing down on me.. it feels like it will. It's an interesting interpretation...

The app as far as I know, is the standard compass that`s already there, but will double check

Just made it :D

Something that happens to us all

Sigh by Paulie W, on Flickr

Oh yes, bang on! And a great image in it's own right; who'd have thought something like that could be, but you've pulled it off really well :)

Paul, were you inside a public lav waiting with your camera to take week 3? You certainly are taking risks. Love the mini eggs shot, good range of pastel colours hightened by the sublime lighting. Another cracker (forgive the pun ).

 Nooo Rob ... The "Lav" is my toilet door :D

Cheers mate
The eggs didn`t seem to want to stay in one place, and the pile kept shrinking for some unknown reason ;)

Think I commented on Flickr about you're photo for sigh, my favorite from that week. Nice and simple and very effective :)

Like the lighting on the mini eggs, another good take on the theme

Sigh... really like that, have certainly been there many a time

Sweet - Very nice indeed, they wouldn't last 2 mins in my house - great pic

PS. You haven't changed the title to your thread so I nearly missed that you had posted wk 4 :)

Sigh - Good take on a difficult theme!

Sweet - Yum! Nice lighting and composition - also well done managing to get them to stay piled up like that. I tried photographing mini eggs for Easter last year and I didn't get a single usable frame.

Yum, once of my favourites. Well done on piling them up, stuff like that normally likes to to fall down.

Nice pastels and lighting

"Sigh"...my kind of thinking, great shot :) love the lighting on your mini eggs too, works really well
