Prompted by the "toilet inspiration thread" I have never understood why, after taking great care to clean your own hands, in most toilets the entrance door opens inwards so you then have to place your clean hands on the door handle that has been touched by the many dirty barstewards that do not wash their hands.
I either nip out when the door is opened, or use a piece of tissue or my cuff to open the door, in no way will I ever risk infection from some dirty individual who has just had a pee, poo or whatever else they might get up to be in the wc.
The simple answer would be to make doors open outwards or better still have swing doors.
