Helped out my daughters school today and had great fun. Knew some of the kids and surprised them by knowing their name etc.
Sat there for 3 hours having fun, just wrapping up at the end and a girl came in, did the usual have you been good etc. then asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she replied 'A happy family' and then started to cry. She came over for a cuddle and chat and one of the elves went and got her mum. Her mum came in and told her they will be happy. We finished talking and she left smiling but with a tear in her eye. That's when I starred to cry.
I decided to be Santa thinking everything would be fun and happy being Christmas and completely forgot that not all families are happy or complete. I watched the mum and daughter go out cuddling and talking. Christmas is great for making people put petty issues aside and think about the important bits. A time to concentrate on family and loved ones, make bridges etc.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and spends time with family and puts some effort into mending bridges. It has made me very thankful for my wife and girls and I will put extra effort in to bring my family together more.

this is part of the reason I love living in a village, when I was younger I'd say 3-8/9 the old chap across the road used to dress us as Santa an bring a present across the road for me...how cool was that of him...I was at the time the only child on our entire lane...
