Hey everyone,

I have a canon 7D and didnt extend the waranty on it, is there a possibility of buying waranty cover or insurance with breakdown cover?

I dont currently have any problems (touch wood) but just thinking of the worst case and im stuck with a broken canon?

Thanks in advance :)

is it already out of warranty or still some time remaining?

I've got all my gear insured with Photoguard even though lots of it is still within the warranty period, there a great peace of mind to be had knowing if you drop the camera with your favourite lens on it you will be able to get it repaired or replaced. In my case the worst case scenario would be over £4,000 (5D3 and 70-200 2.8 IS L) in one drop, I couldn't afford not to have the insurance.

The best insurance to have is that, which you don't need

Thank you stuart will have a look at that insurance group, been having a look at cliik? but they have quoted me £310 for the year, is this about right?

your 7D is a pro camera, designed for some pretty serious use. as long as you treat it with a fair amount of care i think you'll be fine.

most extended warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.

i would however definitely recommend that you get your gear insured, there is more chance of you dropping your camera or tripping over than something going wrong with it electronically.

the most common thing to go wrong i'd say is with the shutter (which an extended warranty may not cover as it may be considered a 'consumable' part or wear and tear as it does have a limited life span - think how many car warranties don't cover exhausts and tyres etc).

Can't imagine that's just for one camera as Cliik won't do just kit. Do you have other kit and other covers included in that?
