I have just bought a lens second hand. It is one year old bought in the UK. I am hoping to get the receipt to the first owner name.
Can I register the warranty (which has never been activated) to my name? The box stipulates 5 years warranty, so if I can get 4 years warranty this would be amazing?

Maybe pose the question with Tamron?
Though I wonder if there is possibly a stipulation about registering within a certain period of time to ensure the warranty is 'running'???

Please note the first sentence.....it look my supposition was correct i.e. the 5 year warranty is registration extension of I surmise their standard warranty

I didn't expect to get the warranty, so not really annoyed, just thought it would have been a nice freebie.
