Hi
I am considering buying a Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS and am liking your prices.
Can you confirm that the warranty period for this lens is one year as stated in the description or is it the 3 year one that Sigma UK give on their EX lenses?
If it is just the one year due to grey import, where do they go for repair in the event of a warranty claim?
I only ask as I had a grey import Tokina lens that Kenro (Tokina UK) would not touch under warranty.
I am also looking at the 120-400 but that is only 1 year UK warranty anyway as it is not an EX lens.
Thanks
Julian

As far as I am aware all warranties are with Panamoz themselves.

Sigma UK will not warranty goods that are not purchased through approved UK suppliers.

Sorry, don't know about Canon.

Sigma UK are very strict on Grey imports, they wont touch it under warranty unless you pay for all associated costs.

Thanks Tony. Now its time to weigh up the options - cheaper price and one year (with option to extend to 2) OR 3 year Sigma UK warranty but more cost:shrug:
Not sure which way to go with this one. At least I have a couple of weeks to decide before I get some spare cash:)

I think if you were going to have any issues or get a poor copy it would all be well within the first year
most stuff we buy in the uk only has a year ie laptops the shops always try to sell you a warranty for nearly as much as the item you have just bought lol

Dear Julian,

Hi there, sorry for not replying earlier. You will not have coverage from Sigma UK, as we source from worldwide. We provide a 1 year replacement warranty for free.

Regards,
Tina

Hi Tina
Thanks for your reply. One more question if you dont mind.
If I do go ahead and buy this lens from you, do you accept returns if I feel that it is a "poor" copy?
I am pretty sure that poor copies are not as common as most people think but there is that chance.
If I return it, how is postage sorted? Do I have to pay return postage to HK or do you arrange this? Do you then send out another one in replacement?
Thanks
Julian
