Warranty question - Nikon D5100

Hi folks

Quick newbie type question. I've recently bought a Nikon D5100 kit with lens from Amazon.co.uk.

It came with 2 carbon copy type warranty slips, I'm not sure what I'm meant to do with them? Do I return a copy to Amazon, or do I just hang on to all of it, in the event of needing to make a warranty claim. Amazon appears to offer no information on this, and I can't see any easy way to ask the question on the website.

ETA - Just found the 'Contact Us' bit on Amazon, however, any advice off here would be greatly appreciated as Amazon will probably take an age to reply.

Was it bought from Amazon themselves or from a reseller on Amazon, if its from a reseller likelyhood its a "grey market" camera and Nikon wont touch it under warranty
 
It was directly from Amazon. I wouldn't of got it from a seller if that was the case.
 
Did it come with a Nikon warranty card? Have you tried registering it on the Nikon website?
 
I'll be honest, I haven't really done anything as yet :cool: . I've just been clicking like a mad man. There was no card in the sense of a card, just these two warranty slips of paper.

I'll try the online registration this evening when I get in from work. I've never actually registered any product in my life if I'm honest, so this whole warranty business is all a bit alien to me.

Just keep them, no need to send anything back to Amazon or Nikon, just go on the Nikon UK site and register your stuff on-line.
 
In the event of a warranty claim you'll only need to provide proof of purchase from a UK retailler.

If i remember rightly when I purchased a Nikon D3000 via Amazon all i did was register it with Nikon UK on there site and I got paperwork in the post saying it was covered for the 2 year warranty. I think the details are within the 2 year warranty sticker on the box if it has one.
