Warning... Herbal Haze legal high

About an hour ago got back from driving from a local city with a friend. On the way back he asked me if he could smoke in the car, and offered me some of his herbal ciggerette. Me being innocent to this stuff thought it was harmless like herbal tea.

Reality - I lost all my coordination, I went dizzy, I felt sick and I truly believed I was going to die on the motorway. I am a keen drinker, and can honestly say I am safer driving after a bottle of vodka than with two tokes of this mental stuff.

I've now had to lie down for an hour just to feel good enough to type this.

I am told this stuff is legal to buy and smoke, so beware if you have kids of school age. It's possibly the most dangerous thing I've ever ingested. I could not even hold a conversation and believed the radio was a greater being speaking to me.
 
I assume you pulled over? That sounds like some dodgy stuff... I avoid ingesting things I haven't heard of ;)

I was too scared to pull over. I was terrifed. I was sure I was going to die, and was close to tears in the car. I couldnt even bring myself to get onto the hard shoulder as I honestly thought I would end up crashing and killing us.

I wasn't even able to judge distances when I did manage to get off.

I know it sounds naive and silly, but I truly thought I was having something akin to a herbal tea. I have never taken drugs before, and am still pretty terrified by this.
 
It's probably Salvia divonorum (if that's spelt correctly)

I used to smoke it about 12 years ago in college but it was rather weak, from what I've heard, these days it's soo strong that it can be worse than Cannabis!
 
Did I read the word Salvia... omg,, I mean OMFG, I was dumb enough to try the strong stuff, the walls moved, the walls changed colour, a small spider on the wall became a huge spider, my cup of tea became a cup of green goo, the room spun, worst experience of my life, never NEVER again.

sorry but at the risk of sounding nasty.. did you not think about the innocent people you could have killed by not pulling over?
I understand that you were unsure of what you were taking but by christ glad i wasn't on the road at the time.
 
Not much of a friend you have in my opinion to give you that without you knowing all about it.
 
The stuff is likely not salvia just one off the many legal high's now sold.

I used to be a big green smoker in my early teens and my friend still does to this day, that too has gotten alot stronger.

But this stuff is scarily strong. I cant handle even the green now adays. But my mate that still does said that he had tryed this stuff and it was more like taking a pill/powder type drug with the speed and strength it hits you and its also very likely to make to paranoid or freek out.(he got paranoid for hours he said). My other mate that stays in glasgow said loads of people have been getting hospitalised due to the strength as they think that they can smoke it like weed. But ur actualy only ment to put a tiny tiny amount to get a weed like hit.
 
Doubtful it was salvia, as for the desired effect of salvia, it needs to be smoked in a concentrated manner for it to work, and not in a joint/cigarette, as it would not be sufficient to have any effect.
I would imagine it would be one of the bud alternatives that you can buy legally.
Certainly not wise to be driving when trying something like this.
I haven't tried it myself, but have heard some pretty poor reports of it. A lot of the legal highs in general are pretty dubious, and can be very limited in the amount of testing that has gone on for each product, so imo it would be wise to steer clear in future.

you've got to be pretty daft not to realise that a legal high will get you high .. the clue is in the name.

Bit of a blend of a mate who gives you this stuff while driving to be honest.

What an idiot for offering you something that could have killed people.

Not sure why people are having a pop at you. If you'd have known what it can do, you obviously wouldn't have touched it.

this is why i had ago he should have pulled over at once what if he had crashed into another car killing those inside it?? let us hope it has taught him a lesson.

I really don't want to get into an argument. But for the sake of clarity, that is completely wrong.

I am not a drug user, and have never to my knowledge taken any illegal dugs. Certainly not intentionally. However at parties, and in clubs I have taken plenty of herbal type of things like flavoured shisha - I assumed this was the same.

Also, in reference to the friend. He asked to smoke, and I asked him what the stuff he was rolling into his cig was. He said it was a herbal thing, which is completely legal. I stupidly assumed it was similar to shisha or that flavoured tobacco you can buy, so I had some. Only a small bit, but the consequences could have been horrific.

I've also only posted this on here, to warn others. I am not trying to show off. I am merely pointing out that this "legal" substance would certainly lead to a conviction for driving whilst impaired through drink or drugs, and could potentially cause life changing damage to someone. I consider myself lucky to not have been killed or to have killed anyone else. As I have said - I'd be safer after a litre of vodka than on this stuff.

For reference, it was not just driving that I found impossible. I also was unable to even hold a conversation. I was zoning in and out of consciousness and had no real control over myself. It was not a pleasant experience, and is not something I would wish to do again. I could not use my phone, and certainly had almost no control over myself. I also had what I consider to be a panic attack, and had strong feelings of what can only be described as suicidal thoughts. This is completely not like me, which can only demonstrate the strength of this stuff.

I am not an expert in the field. But cannot understand why people want to put themselves through that intentionally. I have spoken to a friend who advises me it was referred to him by a shop as an alternative for weed. He is a bit of a smoker, which I have no problem with. However even he has thrown this bag away and will be not making another purchase.

What I find particularly wrong, is that children or vulnerable people can legally buy this stuff. I think most people who read my posts, will agree I am an arrogant and obnoxious sod. But if someone was to take this stuff who had severe problems, I feel the consequences could be much much worst.
