Yes
is this the biggest pile of junk ever?

they have no stock notification on their site so your effectively ordering things completely blind.
they then charge you £7.95 postage as standard for next day delivery (no option of first class etc)

so ive shelled out £145 on a rucsac im kind of after by the end of the week really, only to find out that the item is not in stock, i have no idea when it will be in stock, and well ive paid for a service im not going to recieve because im not going to get my item by next day delivery as they havent got it in stock so it aint going to arrive tomorrow is it (i ordered the item at 6.30pm on tuesday)

pretty damn annoyed! :nunu: :nunu: :nunu: :nunu: :hissyfit: :banghead:

Not much point having a web based point of sale if you have to phone them up to check wether they actually have what you want to buy though.

hmm that does suck

i find ebay shops to be far more 'accomodating'

If a store doesn't have a stock based system on the website, and I actually need it to be in stock right away, then I'll always phone to make sure.

Got to agree - the lack of inventory levels, being able to log back in and see what the progress of your order is, even not being able to cancel an order through their website is ridiculous and frustrating - definately not a good example of a e-retailer.

To give them credit though, when I've bought stuff thats in stock service is prompt and good, and theres never been a problem cancelling something over the phone when its became apparent that they cant meet a deadline for delivery.

I always phone to see if stock is available, I agree their site should show stock availablility.

They do currently have a job vacancy for an IT web maintainer/designer.
This is probably why it hasn't been updated to a php site.

Have you tried ringing them to see when the bag will be available?
Ask them for an alternative, usually they are very helpful.

If it helps some of the chaps/ess have purchased what seems a good rucsac camera bag from 7dayshop.com for £17.99 Its a Hama version, don't know if this may help, you might get it for the weekend? I've got the lowpro orion treker II, this was £40 from Jacobs, I can get my body and 3 lens and my flash in the bottom part, this then leaves the 'rucsac' bit at the top which will fit what ever., plus a few zippy compartments too.

i dont need it this weekend, i just would have liked it, definetly need it for easter weekend as im out photographing (although i can do without it if i have to)

i just dislike the idea that on a website they think its acceptable to charge you for something so your pretty much tied to the sale, and then turn round and say "oh we havent got that in stock, you;ll have to wait" wouldnt happen in a real shop and shouldnt happen on the internet

bag im buying is a crumpler brians hot tub, about to buy a laptop and go on hols so i can use it as my hand luggage with laptop, camera gear, a thin jacket as well as putting my books in it, it;ll also act as a day sack while im away. ive comprehensively outgrown my crumpler love15 shoulderbag

I always place my orders with WE over the phone.

I agree a real time stock display would make their site better, as would the ability to group items together instead of by manfacturer - you don't always know which model is like for like until you spend hours trawling their site :(

I'm sure its in stock, cause if you take a look at the lens section some items are clearly marked not in stock, so i would assume you'd be ok, is it not worth cancelling the WE one get your sponds back and go for the cheaper one if they've got them?

yes possibly it would be and im gonna see what warehouse express say tomorrow and decide from that, cheers for the link though, have you used abc digital cameras before?

Not personally, but they always seem to come up on searches, might be worth doing a thread to see if anyone has had any dealings?

ABC digitals dont have it in stock and warehouse express it could be up to 2 weeks until they recieve an order, i think ill just have to wait....:nunu: :hissyfit: :banghead:
