As the title says i would like to display my work on my own website, i think i'm capable of doing al that as i've did bits of websites before. I was just having trouble deciding on a domain name as this is something which i have to keep and can not change. I was looking to see if anyone had any ideas?

My top contendor at the minute is SnoddyPhotography.co.uk

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance, Josh Snoddy

jsphoto.co.uk?

SnoddyPhotography to me, read the first time as ShoddyPhotography.co.uk.

Oh Josh, sorry mate but I'm not keen on the name, I know its your surname, but I misread it at first to shoddyphotography. Thats not meant to be a joke, just as i saw it.

 Thats alright, constructive criticism =)

JSPhotography.co.uk is already taken, i quite liked that one

JoshPhotography.co.uk is available but i think it doesn't really work..?

jsphoto.co.uk?

SnoddyPhotography to me, read the first time as ShoddyPhotography.co.uk.

Ok, thanks thats SnoddyPhotography out the window :)

JSPhoto.co.uk is already taken

Thanks for the idea though never thought of that one =)

joshography?
hope your enjoying the camera:)

=)

hmm... Joshography.co.uk

Another good idea =)

Does it have to be a co.uk?
js-photography. several available

Nop, doesn't have to be co.uk, i would just prefer it to be..

Thanks for the idea, taken into consideration

Ive just found out that the site I was after is now available but too late for me ... lightarted.net

Gary

How about, just for a change, a domain name that doesn't have the word 'photography' in it?

Short and memorable.

Both things that my domain name isn't ;)

Cheers,
James

CAn you turn the 'D's around and make it 'snobbyphotography'?

Why not just yourname.co.uk?

Avoid anything with a hyphen or a deliberate misspelling (such as ...foto...) - harder for people to remember and awkward to tell people. Also, their use usually only comes about because the unhyphenated or correctly-spelled version belongs to someone else who benefits from web visitors looking for you

My only suggestion for now - joshots.co.uk

^^ I like joshography.co.uk

Thanks for all those suggestions guys, a real help =)

In the end i decided to go for joshphotography.co.uk because i thought it would be easier to remember than my name and it gives a just of what my site is about

I should get my site up and running within 2 weeks, hopefully :)

Thanks again guys

Be creative, get mate and bounce ideas off each other.

Think of a random word e.g. fishcakes and see where that takes you.

In a training session a few weeks back I used Frogspawn to get some ideas out of the group and worked very well. (unfortunately that's already taken)

Make sure that whatever you end up on you can get the .co.uk - better results in google UK.

And remember, the shorter and more memorable the better ;)
