Just wondering if any natives can offer any suggestions (or warnings)

DH & I are planning a few days in Cornwall the week before August Bank Holiday. The intention is to see the Eden Project and Tintagel with whatever else we can squeeze in.
I've trawled t'internet trying to find a decent hotel/B & B but sometimes it's hard to get a proper idea of a place from a few photos.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay.

Ideally on the west coast about opposite St. Austell and not in a big town. The quieter the better. If there was a wee self catering place we would stretch to the week.

If anyone has any suggestions for good fishing locations I'd appreciate that too.

(Camping is out by the way - turning soft)

Have you tried googling holiday cottages? There's loads to choose from all over Cornwall. If you go on to www.visitcornwall.com you can find them all there as well

If you want to go further south to Marazion there's great place called Blue Horizon. It's a B&B, great cooking but they also have a kitchen for guests to use so you can cater for the other two meals which is useful! have fun!

I feel like i've trawled the various different websites until my eyes are bleeding.
Bosayne looks just the ticket. Just hope it's free for that week now.
 
I’ve stayed in Tintagal many many times over the years, most recently perhaps the last 10 / 12 years at The Four Winds Guest House owed by an extremely genial lady Kay Knight, nothings to much trouble for her, and the views are to die for. The bungalow looks out onto the cliffs, walk across the road and you are virtually on the coastal path a few minutes walk from King Arthur’s Castle and the church.
Wherever you stay you will love Cornwal
