Want to sell my car, don't want the hassle though!

Ask yourself who would be your target market and their spending power. You may find it is even worse for you than it is for mine old one.

Buy an Audi or BMW next time and don't wait till it's worth around a month's min. wage. Desirable car will attract a buyer more quickly and may demand a reasonable premium over budget / unreliable / poor image brands.

Don't worry. Watch some russian crash videos to calm your nerves until the next tyre kicker on benefits turns up.

Sounds like a business start up plan :)

Not looking to get another car, as my missus has a car I am selling mine. I am planning on using hers instead  she does not like driving much now ..

Just a quick update
I recently put the car on Gumtree, got an email the same day. Person said they would have the car, I thought it was a hoax. A young woman came up and viewed the car, she fell in love with it there and then, and said she will have it, without even trying it out. Gave me a good deposit, and came with the rest of the cash a day or so later.

It was one of the most enjoyable selling experiences ever, no kicking tyres no haggling no messing.

the last car i sold was through gumtree and that sold in less than 24 hours too, the second phone call bought it
i find trying to buy through gumtree is more hassle than selling stuff especially if it's tech items

So, it's being used in a bank job then? :D

I was going to put it on ebay, but after I worked out the charges I would get, I decided against it. I put it on Gumtree for what I was going to ask via ebay, got the full asking price without the fees. I would deffo use Gumtree again, well it worked for me :)

Sold it to a woman who works not too far away from me, and lives a few miles away in a lovely part of town. Out and about the other day, and I spotted my old car parked up, outside a lovely big house. The car had L plates on, so it looks like it is going to get the use that it deserves :)

It deserves to be abused by a learner? Blimey what did it ever do to you? :) :) :)

No she fell in love with the car at first sight, I know she will look after it lovingly [emoji4]

Having sold my wife's (smart convertible) and my own (Toyota Altezza) car recently - my wifes eventually sold via an Ebay classified advert and I sold my own via a Facebook group dedicated to that model of car. Both sold to the first people to look, and both sold for within £ 100 of my asking price.

I think the key points are:- good photography, an open an honest description of the car, cover both good points and negative points, details of service history and a price that is fair. Remember options often don't increase value, but will certainly tip the balance between one car and another.

Autotrader can be expensive. Gumtree is free so worth trying as are owners forums / clubs / Facebook groups.

I got most time wasters and potential scams from Gumtree, so whilst useful its always an 'eyes open' transaction.

I did the best photos I was capable of when taking photos of my car, used the Fuji X10 and photos came out reasonably good. Very pleased it sold so quick :)
