Want to Get Into Club Photography

First post! Really nice forum..I'll get into it.

I want to get into club & event photography. I have a Canon 550D - 18-55mm lens and the Canon 50mm 1.8

Obviously because of the crop factor the 50mm isn't easy to work with. I had the pleasure of renting a Canon 24mm 1.4L and loved the result.

I'm thinking of getting the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and pairing it with a Yonguo YN560 (cant afford the 580ex) and using that as my main set up in a club setting?

Is that suitable set up?
 
you don't need fast apertures, you'll get too little in focus for normal club photography. Get a flash and use your normal lens. AF-assist beam on to help it focus.
