Want a new DSLR, but which one?

If it were me I would buy "body only" and get hunting for some mint second hand Minolta glass.
It doesn't take very long to realise that some of these older lenses are as good as, if not better, than the new ones.
Some can be picked up for ridiculously low prices and for not much money you can get yourself a decent kit which will hold you in good stead for many years to come.
The other nice thing about buying second hand Minolta lenses is that you can usually sell them on quite easily, sometimes for a small profit too!
This situation can only get better the more that people are buying into the Alpha range and search for the second hand stuff.

Think iv found the best deal if I choose to stick to the larger retailers to be on the safe side. I dont want to risk using online retailers that might be selling grey imports.

At Dixons the Sony A350 Digital SLR Value Package (Battery & Holdall) is £427.99 where as at currys and pc world its £509.99

Every where else the camera and 18-70 lens is £449.99 alone

Dixons online is where I purchased my A200 and they did me a fantastic deal....
If you do find it cheaper elsewhere, if you call them they will pricematch too.
I bought a TZ5 from them prior to the A200 and had a couple of niggles with it..they collected it from my works the very next day, and two days later I had a shiney new A200 to replace it, at a very special price to make up for my disappointment.....;);)

I would certainly buy from them again.
 
Turns out Currys, PC World wont price match Dixons anymore as its only a online only store so I have placed my order online and should have it delivered in 3-4 working days. Also found a free delivery code which saved me £4.99 on P+P "DEL299"

Hope so but I doubt it will come before the weekend which would of been handy as I have a wedding to go to!

They never actually did, only if the manager of that particular store decided to.
 
look in my sig, now update, i complete nikon kit, body, 2 lenses, flashgun and bag at a bargin price ;-)
