I ahve a dell laptop lattitude e6500 and the mouse goes for a wander to top or top corner of screen... doesnt do it if laptop is completely level

anyone know if this is a big job to fix? .. apart from keeping it completly level :)
 
normally its the little nubbin mouse in the middle of the keyboard (i think you can disable in the synaptics software?). its built in to the keyboard so should be quick and cheap to replace.
 
I would love to turn off the nubbin mouse for other reasons.. such as the cursor jumps when i am typing.. presumably i catch that cursor... but i tried allsort and cant find an option.... whats synaptics software ?
 
in the mouse properties there should be some touchpad settings?

if not have a look on dell.co.uk/support enter your service tag and go do downloads/drivers. you should have a synaptics /touchpad driver under input devices (i think).
 
downloaded and got lots more options now thanks..

the mouse jumping about from what i can gather is accidently touching the pad not the mouse nubbins.. as its an outdoor use then cant really use external mouse so cant turn off pad.. guess just gotta be more careful when tyiping...
