Hi everyone, I have just come into possession of a nikon D800e and wondered what you guys could recommend for an everyday lens, something that can cover , people, buildings , landscape ? Etc. I have a budget of £500.
Thank you.

I would go for a 24-70 range lens to cover the range needed by your suggested subjects. Welcome to the forums, BTW you are not my Grandad ;)

Lol, say no more ;) yes I was looking at something like the nikon 24-70 f2.8 G ED. Or the Nikon AF-S 24-120mm F4 G VR ED.

Hi

If you don’t need F2.8 for indoor low light shots I think the 24-120 may be a better option.

Go look at a used sigma 24-105 art. Mpb have like new around £400. Great walkabout lens and matches well with d8xx series

Thank you for your input guys its appreciated, going to have a look at my options.

A friend of mine has sold me their nikon AF-S 28-70 f2.8 D , I know its an older lens and I did a bit of research, and i got it at a bargain price.

That's a nice lens. It would be good to pick up a 50 f1.8 for lower weight/low light too.

I have a yongnuo 50mm f1.8 but will be getting a nikon one, or even a 1.4. I paid 200 for the 24-70 and its in mint condition with the case.

I can see that zooms are practical but I do like primes so in your place I might go for a 35mm f1.8.

Good luck choosing and don't forget to come back and post pictures and tell us how you're getting on :D

Thank you for your input, luckily I work 4 on 4 off so it's just weather related now to when I can get out.
