walimex studio modifiers

I may be wrong, but I think that they, or similar ones, are also sold (including by amazon direct in the US) under the brand 'fotodiox'. Lots of people, inc dave hobby and kirk tuck, have said very good things about them if they are.
 
thanks dave. I am in the middle of email exchange with them, the contact method is confusing. phone support skype only 8am-11am and the way it presents is fishy to me.
 
I'd be interested in the Welimex quality, too. There's a seller on ebay that sells Walilmex BTW. if you buy the stripboxes, can you let us know your thoughts?
 
I pinned a question via their help desk system questioning 'who you are' last week. Got a reply in email saying they will contact me this week.
Indeed they did. The person on the line appeared to be professional in answering questions.
They seemed have a few 'warehouses' across Europe to handle orders. There is one in UK - in Reading. I then asked if I can collect from their warehouse. The person said no, 'ordering process', 'in order to protect the privacy' have been quoted.
 
interesting... so what are you thinking after speaking to them first hand, and with the no collect in person policy?

Walimex are quite big in Germany, I have a light set from them that has stood up to 5 years of abuse well.

Not used their UK outlet (was in Germany at the time) and they had fantastic cust service, one of the modelling lamps was DOA, rang them, the new one arrived next day.
