Waking up the idiots on social media...

In classes, I always used a picture taken from the top of the Anglican Cathedral of the then top of the Radio City tower, with the windmills just in front of Crosby beach in the background, to demonstrate the effects of image compression with a long lens. In my case a 70-300mm @300 (equivalent to a 450mm lens on a FF camera.

The windmills are approximately 6 miles away. This was taken in 2005 with a Nikon D70, so not the best image quality, but demonstrates the effect. ;)

Some great views from the top of the Anglican cathedral if anyone ever visits Liverpool.
