Being retired and a full time carer for my partner, my sleeping pattern is all upside down. But I am always up by 6.00am as I feed the Cat and Dog then take the Dog out for a walk, then back for breakfast. But now the warmer weather is here, the Cat and Dog start stirring at about 4.30am. As a result I am now out walking the Dog at 5.00am, and it is lovely.

I have now decided I am going to start getting up early to enjoy the new morning, without the hassle of people and traffic rushing to do the School run, as they rush off to work.

Oh I do like the early mornings, now just a case of remembering to take the camera with me :)

I've got a young dog (8 month old collie)he stirs at first light about half four so I've been up at 5 every morning for the last several weeks,I do love the early mornings,no traffic noise just the birds, mist in the valley below this morning, me up in the sunshine, beautiful.

Morning is the best time for shooting. You can get some real genuine shots. The world at its purest I think.

Too right, early morning is for me the best time of the day, everything is new and fresh

I retired very early (54) two and a half years ago, offer I couldn't refuse

Anyway since I have been at home carried on getting up early to enjoy the morning, smells great, relatively quiet and just feel good getting some fresh air
Best of all, is a summer mist that burns away to reveal a lovely day, close second is a lovely crisp frosty winter morning

Some of us are out the door for work at that time, :p
And you know what? Even at that time of the morning school holidays reduce the traffic.

"Nice" and "early" are two words I can never use in the same sentence/context!

I have to be up at 5:50 every morning to go to work, I also have a 2 year old that's always been a good sleeper but not so in the last few weeks. It'd be nice to sleep until around 8am on the weekends but sadly my brain decides against this an normally wakes me up at "work time" so I spend 60-90mins downstairs trying to be quiet and not waking up the wife or Evie.

Agree about the morning. I have always been an early bird anyway but early morning is just a great time of the day. I'm retired but when I worked (and did not have to get up early) I was always up and doing early on, even at weekends - staying in bed just seemed like a waste of my own time.

We have a dog, for the first time in many years, and as I can't let him off the lead and he is not keen on other dogs that are off the lead, early morning walks are best. I've tended to follow the sun for walks; earlier in the year I was out around 7am, not it is around 5:30am.

I got a lovely photo of an early morning misty lake last year I think it was, will have to try and find the photo and maybe get it framed. Or I may just try for some new misty lake photos :)

Autumn used to be my favourite morning time, but dark mornings are not too good for dog walking or doing photos. So early morning Summer morning it now is for me, just before it gets too hot and all the nutters come out

Used to work in catering way back in the 80s on the night shift, used to be on the road at 4.00am going home. Was great snuggling up in bed, and knowing everyone else would soon be battling on the roads, to get to work :)

We have a lovely little Staffie, she is Eleven and we have had her from a pup. She is very well behaved, and I do keep her on the lead while walking on the streets. But once in the park I let her off her lead, she does not bother other animals or people, she only has eyes and ears for me and the missus. We only have to click or whistle, and she comes running and sits looking up at us :)

My 15 month old son has had me up before 5am every day for the last fortnight and I believe is slowly killing me [emoji42]

I worked a few night shifts way back when too, and yes its a great feeling

( apart from the summer holidays and the noisy brats playing outside, coupled with the hot weather, making it difficult to sleep :( )

I am just grateful that most of the population can't get up that early, as their working life and school etc dictates otherwise.
Keep those lovely peaceful mornings just the way they are :)

Yep, I love being out and about at dawn, but sadly my body does not agree!

I used to love driving to work early, the wildlife was amazing, barn owls etc hunting the hedgerows, foxes badgers etc. going home, roe deer to avoid and
the eternal dodge the bunny
I now walk to work and miss it all :(

Early mornings in Cambridge late May/early June are very unusual, all the stragglers from the May Ball parties are going home in their gladrags.

Bedraggled creatures as a rule, all shot to bits in their posh frocks and suits so early in the morning

Our bedroom window overlooks a green area, could not sleep one early morning. So I tried to cool off by looking out of the open window, it was lovely looking at all the wild animals scurrying about below. Would love to go down with my camera in our garden to catch the early morning wild life. But we live in communal gardens, so I do not think it would go down too well with the neighbours :(

Have a word with the garden facing neighbours. I'm sure so long as you're not pointing the lens through their windows they'll be fine :-)

If it's that early they will all probably still be asleep ;)
When I had the dogs I used to walk them over the fields or down the canal really early, fantastic for seeing wildlife and a perfect time of day so fresh

Tend not to do much photos in the communal gardens for various reasons, but I have done when the time is right and all the neighbours are in a good mood :)

We live in purpose built flats for the disabled, bedroom windows are on the garden side. Knowing how things work were I live, not really a thing to do so early in the morning..

I've always been fortunate in the fact that I started work before traffic got busy, plus getting to the gym at 4:45 AM before starting work made it even better. Now I'm driving in the opposite direction to the rush hour traffic, the queues on the A127 at 6:00 AM heading for London are terrible, but it's all because people insist on slowing down on the A127 instead of the slip road to get onto the M25, it ends up backing up traffic for quite a few miles.

I used to live in Warrington years ago with my ex, she worked in Manchester. Some mornings I would take her into work just before 7.00am. On my way back I would heave a sigh of relief, as all the traffic would be nose to tail heading into Manchester.

My roommate always wakes up early, so i kind of have to get up at the same time. I would love to get up at 7:30, but she always bangs about the kitchen aeound 6:00 :( So i get up at 6:00 now! My city is always busy though, so doesnt really matter

Reset her alarm without her knowing. (y)

Some of us don't require an alarm....we just wake naturally at daft o'clock.
I always wake up without an alarm, although I have natures alarm. As soon as the birds start singing I wake up, if not the Cat would wake me up howling for his breakfast.
