Don't forget the opening-the-box pics. It's the law! ;)

oooh the wit. You should be on the telly

Shots to follow, I'm a law abiding citizen!

It's 5:00am right now and I have to go to work! Dang it, I can't even pull a sick day either! :gag:

Bet your day drags on today.
Excited?? LOL bet it feels like christmas :)

Good grief, he understood :D

I am frustratingly waiting for my D200 and tamron 17-50 to turn up. It took a week to approve me for interest free credit and now they have been slow at sending out the credit documents to sign (I was approved on Friday). I'm hoping that I'll have them when I get home today and so can send them back tomorrow which will mean they'll arrive on Friday. The camera will get sent out next day delivery but not on a Saturday so it's looking like Monday before I see my shiny new camera. :-(

I've had my 30d a few weeks now and loving it. I also purchased the battery grip and find it makes the camera more manageable, but a lot heavier!

It deserved a better home - i was a terrible gin-soaked mother :'(

Yeah, it's driving me nuts! I have the most hits today on the UPS tracking page too! I can verify - just for the record - they do NOT update their tracking system every 10 seconds, 'cos that's how often I've been checking!

Gunna leave work early - I hope! Let's see... 1:20pm, should be outa here at 2:00pm! :woot:

I think I dropped a b***ock, did that thing come with the extra batteries? How does that work exactly, take one from the camera and add another - maybe?

Battery grip will work with one battery in either the battery slots. You need to buy an extra battery for the extra free slot :) Anyway I'm glad your wait is over - or are you charging the battery and waiting a bit more longer ;)

Very nice kit you have brought and have fun - I know that i did when i had my 30D :)

LOL Yep! *slap"

Have a look on the bay and there's loads of dead cheap compatibles which are every bit as good as the Canon ones. The grip works with one battery anyway. There's a little place on the grip to store the normal battery compartment flap. I had my 20D about 6 months before I knew that.

Boyah! Finally got my new kit! :woot:

The initial observation of the box it was delivered in was really worrying! I "two day air" mailed it but I didn't realise they booted them out of the plane as they flew over! Literally, that's what it looked like. It was also soaking wet to boot!

Okay, worries aside, everything inside was okay thank god! Here's the goodies!

Everything fitted together, it starting to look like decent kit! :D

Add the flashgun and it's complete - the proverbial cherry!

All I can say is wow, just wow! The whole kit feels top class, solid and weighty! Now if I could get my mind past the part where I'm handling it like a 2 month old, I'll be fine!

Now all I have to do is wade through the respective manuals and I might be able to take a picture or two!

Nice pointer in the battery cover though, that WAS in the drawer!

Some poeple use it to hold a spare CF card instead - but i find it too much hassle :)

enjoy the kit and have fun walking if you find you don't have enough zoom on the 17-40 :)

Ahhhh look at all those new shiny boxes

I want some new shiny boxes with new stuff in them!

Yeah, don't think I'll keep the CF card there - unless I'm trying to hide it from the secret service or something! :suspect:

Agreed about the lens, I debated going for a 28-105 first but need the wide angle for a wedding coming up soon. Now I need to save to buy more lenses! :naughty:

The D70 is staying, I'll be using it as a backup/second body. As I'm intending on going pro a second body is pretty much essential. I still rate the D70 highly, it's an awesome camera and I got it well cheap. At the time I was in Japan and choosing between a canon or a nikon. The second hand D70 won over the second hand 10D as it was both cheaper and there was a better lens available with it (the 28-200). How close I came to becoming a canon boy, now that was a close shave! :cuckoo:
