My washing machine died the other day so now I'm waiting for a new one to arrive. All they could tell me was that it would be delivered between 7am and 7pm... Grrrrrrrr. My only day off for ages, and I've had to get up early just incase they decide to turn up at 7am, when I know for a fact that it'll be more like 6pm. Why can these companies never give you an idea of a decent time slot? :annoyed:

Rant over :)

lol i know your pain...

*shakes fist at UPS*

Well, I have to tip my hat to John Lewis and say thanks.......they ring you the day before the planned delivery, to say whether it will be am or pm, then ring on the day to say which 2hr slot within that spell, which makes planning your day soooo much easier. Thanks JL!

I agree wholeheartedly. I have had lots of repairs etc, freezer, pc, done recently. Luckily quite a few of them ring by 9am and tell you a 2 hour slot, but that still means a day off work.
I only work 20 mins away so I can nip home ;)

But I get paid by the hour, so even if something is under guarantee, I end up losing a whole days wages.....and like you said, they come at 6pm!!
And then bring the wrong part, which happend 5 times with the PC, so thats an awful lot of money I lost!
And you cant even go out and take the dog for a walk in case they arrive while youre gone.

For the last two day's Ive had to get up early (believe me, 7am for me is unheard of) because of hospital appointments. So I figured today I would have a nice lay in until Oooo 8:30 ish before getting up and going to work.

Ding Dong @ 7:00!!! the bl@@dy postman :annoyed:

Still it was the canvas print of me little granddaughter so its not soooo bad

7am? 7AM? That is a lie in. ;)

I'm usually up at 6.15am every day for work and often don't get home much before 7pm :( It would have been lovely to have stayed in bed until 8am.

Still no sign of my washing machine yet, although I now have a lovely clean bathroom and bedroom, and I've just requested a quote for some double glazing... I can see that today is going to be very costly

I'm still waiting in for a delivery from screwfix :(

I even paid extra for a b4 noon. Bet it turns up @ 11:59

EDIT: Still not here @ 12:25 :(

I went for a lay in this morning too, my neighbours woke me as usual at 7 o’clock by slamming their front door, go back to sleep to be woken by a water board road drill at exactly 8.30, right outside my bedroom window....darn it. ...they finished drilling at 8.45......damn their efficiency. :bang:

Machine still not arrived then Cheryl, I always give my mobile to the company to give to the driver on his work sheet....and then suggest he bell me anytime that day when he thinks he may be due.....the drivers seem to like this idea....I always get a shout, mainly for directions though.

No, still no washing machine :( I'm getting bored of waiting now - patience was never one of my strong points

He might have overloaded his vehicle and that is causing the delay....

Cool.......someones left a new washing machine on my drive this evening

lol @ DF... it arrived at 4.40pm in the end. I was starting to feel like a prisoner in my own house

Cheeky little edit there ;)

Of course you've missed the other inference here:

Midwife - waiting for a delivery - etc

Yeah, but you can't exactly induce a van, can you? :)

"Zanussi was delivered at 4:40pm; uneventful delivery; weight - a f**king ton"
