Hi! everyone and a very Happy New Year to you all.

Can any of you using a wacom tell me how to get the little ring that shows you your brush to be the same size as the actual brush you are using. Very new to the tablet and find the ring shown seems to be bigger than my brush.

Any tips on setting up express keys for photoshop/Lightroom would be great or even links to tutorials.
Thank you :

Hi Cathy, I think you may have the brush size being effected by the pressure you are applying on the tablet itself. The harder you press, the larger the brush size?

Try these guys, they rock generally but I found their Wacom set up videos a good starting place.

Ok I will turn pen pressure off and also have a look at the link.
Thank you Rich

Keep pen pressure on Cathy, it's one of the reasons people use tablets for precision editing. Certain brushes (especially ones that use a secondary brush as part of their creation) will show up as a much larger footprint than is actually represented unless you press to full pressure on the pen. I'd recommend lots of practice just learning how hard you have to press to get the brush to full size on a blank canvas - I custom make a lot of brushes and have gotten very used to gauging the centre of the brush circle to be where the finest/lowest pressure beginning of the stroke will be - if you have pressure sensitivity on then all you need to do is alter your pressure until you are at the brush size you need.

When I first started using tablets I created a new document & drew loads of lines going from one side to the other (use the basic, hard edged brush) starting very light at the left, steadily increasing pressure to the centre of the page & then slowly lifting off the pressure to the right of the page - with practice you should easily be able to get a nice transition from fine to heavy, thicker line & back again. Well worth the time it'll take to get proficient at this - stick with it :)

Also, in your preferences there is an option to control pen pressure - make sure this isn't set to be too firm & is close to middle ground to begin with. I'll see if I can dig out any of my old tutorial stuff on the subject for you.
