Hi all

I had read that v2004 is being rolled and now spotted this on the Windows Update GUI...............anyone else getting this "on its way" message or indeed already updated?

I got that on my main PC but decided not accept until I'd tried one of the less important ones. None of the others received the invite so I forced it by using MS's Media Creation tool page. It didn't take too long to update and nothing obvious is broken. I might pick on another one today......

Nothing yet so I will wait until it arrives

I have the same "your device is not quite ready for it yet" message. Not sure what needs to happen to make it ready - I'll keep an eye on things.

Mine says it's ready to download and install, not done anything yet

Thanks for the replies :)

I think I will "pause" it for now ;)

Mine is showing 2004 is ready to download and install but it also says that 1909 is ready to download!
Version History shows 1909 was successfully installed on 19/4 ... is there more than one version of 1909?

I get the same message, seems they're doing it in stages, likely so they can deal with bug reports on a smaller scale from the first batch of guinea pigs

I'll wait a couple weeks maybe , see what others report

Been updated on my work PC (early adopter/late beta) for a couple of weeks now - absolutely no drama to report. Your mileage may vary.

Is the 1909 not a service stack update?

:runaway: No idea!
When it last updated I lost my login screen and took ages to gain access and still don't know what changed to allow me in ... don't want more hassle.

Oddly, on the Update History it says v1903 was the most recent Feature Update but when I click on "OS Build Info" on page I showed above that shows that v1909 is installed! I can only surmise that as v1909 was described as "v1903 with some extra lights turned on" that v1909 was in effect not a "Features Update" in MS speak.

Updated wifey's new HP lapdog and my Go 2 last night. Both fairly quick and trouble-free. The only irritation is that it puts the user folders back into This PC so I had to re-run the script to remove them.

Thanks for those who say all is hunky dorey following the install :)

FWIW
Here is the MS page about the update v2004 and the list of known issues.
In regard to "your PC is not yet ready", is it that the Win Update telemetry 'reports' certain deficiencies that would compromise the v2004 install.......................and it is in effect that v2004 is not yet ready for the PCs i.e. there will possibly be some hotfixes coming through to 'correct' the PC to make it fully ready for v2004??? or that MS are using the telemetry to tweak v2004 to improve the "User Experience" whatever that is/or really means

Ok so I hit the button and it's gone through with no issues, no idea what's different though

OK. I don't know if I have this release yet.....but my computer just talked me into linking itself to my phone. I can see all my text messages and it's currently syncing my pictures.

I've no real idea why or how it's doing this but hey, it's just like the kind of stunt Apple would pull.

>> OK I checked and I'm on 1909. Maybe there are even better things to come.

It's too early to say it's issue free, I still haven't gotten it but I'll wait and see the tech site reviews confirming all is fine beforehand J.I.C - Brand new PC, not ready to F it up just yet for some update that I probably won't make any real use of

I always stay one version behind on our PCs....it's always worked very well...…..prior to Windows 10 it was always a 12 month gap!
