For anyone in the vicinity of Carlisle airport on Saturday XH558 will be doing a flypast at around 16:30. Subject to the weather etc. this will actually turn into a short display (ie. several flypasts not just the one that was originally planned). An opportunity to grab a photo or two of their static vulcan (XJ823) underneath the flying one.

Also of note: on Sunday a spitfire and hurricane from the BBMF will be stopping at Carlisle for fuel around 14:45

Additional info. The two lancasters are now also going to do a flypast on Saturday arounbd 13:00

They are heading over here to Northern Ireland and displaying on both Saturday and Sunday. I'm wondering if they will be parked overnight at RAF Aldergrove?

Not my usual subject matter at all but like the sound of this. Any recommendations of viewing spots?

They had to cancel from northern Ireland today due to bad weather over the pennines. Very disappointing.

...meaning the Lancasters....
(the bad weather was at Coningsby...over the Pennines and Lake District the sun was cracking the flags!)

XH558 did two passes over the airfield.
