Thanks for the heads up and just hope she has a good season as in the past unfortunately she had odd technical problems that stopped her showing at a few scheduled events.

A venerable warbird who will missed in the air, those engines sure made your innards vibrate :)

I will have to try and see her during the Dunsfold weekend???

Allegedly...

The last 4 years have been the last season for a variety of insurmountable reasons which, in the end, were overcome.

I'll believe it when I see it and it will be sad to see it go, when it goes.

Good way of drumming up bookings though...

2015 is beyond when the Vulcan was expected to remain airworthy, so I doubt that it'll have its life extended again. IIRC, they're out of engines and parts thereof to keep it in the air safely. Shame but inevitable.

Saw it at Southport last year and although it was good to see, it was a shorter and less of a demo than i've seen in previous years (inc at Southport previously), so perhaps they were on a saving schedule then to have it flying this year ??

I spent the evening with the crew last year at Fairford whilst stopping in Wootton Basset
they told me and a friend of all there problems it was lucky they flew Last year.
Taffie cant alf drink he he

They are also running short of Engineers and the three eading authorities are withdrawing their support, without this the CAA won't grant a licence. I really doubt she will fly after this year.

They are highly publicising the fact that 2015 is the last year, with all the recent media reports, even making the News At Ten. They do have a lot planned for this year including the forthcoming V Force Tour, details here http://www.vulcantothesky.org/salute-to-the-v-force-tour.html.

I have also heard a rumour that on her final flight back into Robin Hood Airport, they have something special planned, which may include the Red Arrows.
