Following EE’s announcement in June, Voda have announced that they are to bring back roaming charges for overseas trips from January.
Surely one of these will NOT do this, as that could attract a lot of customers to them?
Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving...
I just feel the need...
Pro EC people never blame the EC for the introduction charges tariffs and barriers on a country they've had a very close relationship with for multiple decades. Why must all charges barriers and arbitrary pettiness from the EC be blamed on Brexit? IMO this just shows the EC for vindictive petty bureaucrats they are as things like this could be amicably sorted if the EC would show some willing for once. But, the EC get a pass on blame on all occasions.
Generally though I think that politics should be in the appropriate thread.

Thats my thought - if a company can grow customers say by 15% with free roaming that could be worth more than charging existing customers £2 a day or whatever. At the risk of aborting a new Brexit thread just after conception, I think we should not let this become that.
Let's focus this thread on discovering how the different airtime suppliers handle the situation, rather than allow ourselves anti-Brexit airtime etc.
So...
I believe that GiffGff that I use (reselling O2 airtime) currently allow free roaming. I wonder for how long. I also wonder if some resellers might take a hit on roaming charges to keep/attract customers - there may be competition arising from it?

To all.
It's just gets incredibly irritating seeing anti Brexit whinging from the same vocal remain crowd in thread after thread, even in the gear threads.
I wish you lot could just move on or at least restrict this constant whinging to the political threads.
Another laughing emoji from the ever jovially predictable KitsunAndy.
Good to see the usual rabid pro EC cabal still hammering this all day and all night in thread after thread after losing the referendum and the subsequent election.

What on earth are you babbling on about?
I logged on to find I'd received a laughing emoji from a die hard remainer and it just tires me that some of you guys just keep hammering on at Brexit in thread after thread. I do wish it could be dropped or at least kept to the political threads.
It's far too easy to click on a thread and encounter this Brexis whinging with the same old cabal of hard line remainers bashing this topic at every and any opportunity in any and every thread and I'm bored and irritated by the hard line remainers who just wont drop it. We've had the referendum and we've had the election and I think that should be enough to end the remainer whining in thread after thread.
Clear enough?

As post #10 , this is not a brexit thread.I logged on to find I'd received a laughing emoji from a die hard remainer and it just tires me that some of you guys just keep hammering on at Brexit in thread after thread. I do wish it could be dropped or at least kept to the political threads.

Three brings in EU roaming charges and ends global scheme
Three is the third UK network to bring back roaming charges for the EU post-Brexit.www.bbc.co.uk
It's a shame Three are doing it, as they were one of the first to offer free roaming. Before it was a law you could use Three mobile allowance in any country where they had a sister company. used it quite a lot in the past, wasn't just Europe either, it was global.

They have also doing this on non-EU roaming too. Maybe its just a convenient way to raise revenue without increasing mainstream prices (i.e. the same way Quality St is the same price each year but for slightly less each time?)
I worked on marketing systems for two of the cellphone providers and both were very keen to track spend against cost and retention. I've no idea what they did with the information once they got it but I'm sure it looked good in their reports...So it is quite likely, given that people switch airtime suppliers fairly infrequently, that there is something to be gained by a reseller buying more bandwidth and offering free or generous roaming limits,
